RMweb Premium TheQ Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 6, 2019 Mooring awl, Inner Temple Hare, 6.5 hours sleep but a very uncomforatable bit in the middle trying to find a pain free position. Run by the Worstead Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, Woolly Worstead, is coming up on 15th and 16th of June 10am- 4pm. At Dilham, NR28 9PT, their hall is on the recreation ground. (Dilham is 17 miles ish north east of Norwich.) A display and demonstrations of all things woolly. There are tea / coffee and cakes, and on Saturday "The Occasional Ceilidh Band" I'd Like to be there supporting SWMBO, but I'm told I'm on Dog sitting Duties.. The above is probably why I found six sheep had been in the tin shed, How do I know they had been in there? They left their coats behind... Time to do the last few measurements on this weeks major system.. 14
RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2019 (edited) Very sorry to hear the sad news from Jamie and LE. Losing a good friend is always hard and a suicide at the age of 39 is horrible especially when leaving a young child. Good morning all, Sunshine here and it should be a mainly fine day. Some minor domestic tasks to do and then the day is mine to do with as I please. Bet that doesn't last. Have a good one, Bob. RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2019 (edited) Good morning everyone The sun is shining and the sky is blue and there aren’t many clouds about at the moment. Breakfast has been consumed and once Sheila has left for her Zumba class I’m off to visit the dental hygienist, oh joy! My you, the fact that she’s tall, blonde and very pretty does take your mind off it. Once I get back I will get changed and finish off fixing the plasterboard to the cellar walls, then it will be time for a good clean up, mopping the floor will be the last task before I knock off for the day. With so little to do down there I’m hoping that I’ll have it all done before dinner, so that I can relax for the afternoon. Hopefully, if I’m not to knackered I’ll go for another dip in Salford Quays this evening. Jamie and Pete, condolences for both your loses, death, expected or not always comes as a shock. Back later. RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2019 My prayers this morning are for Jamie and Lightengine - may they find some comfort in their loss - as well as for Rick and whatever trials he is going through. Perhaps the support expressed in these pages may be of some small help. My own troubles seem minor in comparison - an infected big toe that hasn't got better for a week so I'm just off to see a nurse at the medical centre. RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2019 Morning all. I think I know what my Dad was doing 75 years ago. He was 22 years old and it was his first trip to continental Europe. He had been to Africa though. Some years ago (the 60th Anniversary year) Matthew and I stood at the waters edge of the beach Dad landed at (not the one they were supposed to due to a fault with their landing craft). RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 6, 2019 Morning all from Estuary-Land. Condolences to Jamie and LE. The bin wagons dawn chorus is over now but it began with the lesser spotted glass & bottle in full song so no one slept in. Have to try and finish the lads baseboard today as its predicted to pour down tomorrow. The D-Day flypast was nearly two hours late yesterday, I feel sorry for those who went to watch it at the appointed time. 14
Popular Post bbishop
Such sad news about Mel. I operated with him at Ally Pally and Warley and he was a true gentleman. Jamie will acknowledge that Mel assisted in building LGA in the church. He will be missed. Bill 1

RMweb Gold Popular Post The Stationmaster Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2019 Morning. Adfternoon all, Condolences to Jamie and Light Engine. I have cleaned the vacuum, and various other things with the suction machine, and notwithstanding the weather forecast there is too much rain passing every now and then to indulge in major tasks outside, so i'll no doubt be redirected to 'inside' at some stage in advance of next weeks visitation. Have a good day one and all. 18

Popular Post Ian Abel
Condolences to Jamie and his friend’s family and LightEngine BIN day and I was going to sleep in, but forgot to put the BINs out last evening Nothing to report from yesterday. This morning I'm singing with the choir at our fellow member and good friends funeral. The hardest part of these events is trying to sing through to provide the comfort to those mourning. We usually manage to support each other on the risers so that we have the strength to perform. 14 and sunny, headed for 29 later. Best wishes to all. 2 2
RMweb Premium TheQ Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 6, 2019 Just been outside in the sunshine with a brush.. My lab A/C temperature was climbing. Brushed off lots of fluff, leaves and a plastic bag. Temperature in lab now dropping. Had a relaxing late morning and afternoon measuring 10G ohm resistors, 20 minutes between taking measurments not being able to move much, nothing difficult. except my neck is going click every time I turn it from screen to meter. Might mow the jungle for a bit when I get home, it looks too soggy tomorrow and Saturday. just waiting for the final measurement of the day 4
Popular Post lightengine
My deceased Belgian family friend David was buried yesterday. His Mother was said to be cross with him. I hope she was only cross because he had left his young daughter. Nobody will probably ever know what his turmoils were, but sadly he thought they were too much to even discuss with his slightly older brother. Thanks to all for kind comments.
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 6, 2019 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The predicted rain seems to be holding off for the moment. Ordered a few more items for the lads layout from e-bay but most items I have already from the stash marked 'It might come in handy some day'. Muggatee awaits, be back later.

The French wear them on Remembrance Day due to the collur of the uniforms that the recruits wore in 1914. Jamie 10 3
Popular Post lightengine
Watched the laying of roses in a Normandy cemetery yesterday on the BBC DDay75 prog. A young lad maybe 10 years old in combat clothing was helping the other volunteers. Every time, he sidestepped to the next gravestone, stepped forwards and placed a rose against it, stepped back saluted and repeated the procedure. It looked like he had taken it on himself to salute.

RMweb Premium Popular Post Gwiwer Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2019 Ladies and gents, I understand a search party has been sent in this general direction owing to my extended absence. I remain Upon the Hill of Strawberries, breathing, coughing and generally laying about the place. I have managed to not miss a rostered day at the House of Fun but on several occasions it has been a very close-run thing. Before anything else and without having read more than a couple of posts from recent days let me add my condolences to Jamie and LE for their losses. So now an update. Having spent five days including my birthday very unwell in bed my personal timetable has been set back by about three weeks. Everything from paperwork to the laundry is in arrears. However as we now live debt-free no payment is in arrears since none is due. I am still not right. I haven't been able to shake off the cough and tightness in the chest and will therefore parade before the quack tomorrow with great reluctance. It will also be with a quite firm opinion that the blue inhaler which I have been using is not the one for me and that the brown (steroidal) one should produce beer results. Thaat is based on the first-hand experience of several friends who have also endured this beastly and unrelenting cough. I shall also be raising the long-ignored but previously-diagnosed OSA which is probably interplaying with the cough to prevent decent sleep night after night. Technology has moved on since I was offered a trolley with two cylinders on to drag around with me as a CPAP device. Things are much more discreet and portable now. SWMBO continues to go from not-good to not-good but there has been a very slow and steady improvement. We have a date for her surgery (assuming the NHS don't cancel it meantime) which is both driving her anxiety back through the roof and will hopefully allay some of it in due course. She continues with meditative therapy for her mental conditions which sometimes produces a reasonable result and at the least does no harm. I have also spent a significant amount of time this past week or so talking with Neighbour (Upstairs) who has been away in Morocco as an end-of-university holiday. It is a place - and a hotel - she has been to several times before and where she has had a love interest. Her room-mate this time proved to be anything but a mate causing tensions, a couple of stand-up rows and wanted to do the exact opposite of Neighbour. That was hard enough. Neighbour met "her man" with whom she has been very closely connected on previous visits. This time it was Ramadan meaning intimacy among the Moslem community is forbidden. Both sides expressed their frustration. Neighbour got the clear impression that her interest was entirely one-sided which, frankly, I could have told her this time last year but sometimes things are best left unsaid. Mr Love-interest offered her some warmth and a hug but instead of the hoped-for slow dance at the end of each evening (he being a part of the hotel's entertainment crew) she was left alone on favour of others. So far not so good. Two days into her holiday I took a message from her; she had just learned that her 15 year-old nephew back in Dorset had taken his life. Quite how anyone responds to that news when a quarter of the way around the world I don't know. Suffice to say I have been able offer a good deal of support and a few helpful links via the internet and drawn from experience of this happening to others. A close friend lost her son the same way. I put the two ladies in touch. So Neighbour (Upstairs) is now back upstairs with university finished, currently looking for work and awaiting family events to take their course. It's going to be a difficult summer. This week has seen the anniversary of a work colleague collapsing on duty this time last year and literally dying on the job. That stunned everyone. There is now a memorial plaque in his memory in our mess room. So more challenging times among the crew there. I am hoping to get more time awake and on the computer from next week onwards. I am also hoping to finally get the new computer up and running which will mean I no longer have to wait 15 minutes while the beach-ball prevents me doing anything ..... Onwards and upwards. It's not all bad and I have two more weathering demos in the next month to prepare for. Best wishes to all. Thanks to those who have popped up elsewhere in conversation and / or asking how I am. It's good to have friends. 2 2
RMweb Premium Popular Post Gwiwer Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2019 Quote the brown (steroidal) one should produce beer results. Whilst I might appreciate beer results i meant, of course, "better results" and shall be taking the keyboard to task. In fact taking it to a recycling facility once the new one is plugged in. 2 6
RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted June 6, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 6, 2019 Rick "beer" performance seems nicer than "better" performance. Watched the West Indies throw the game away v Oz, then the England ladies demolish the West Indies Ladies. So, despite no umpiring today I am all cricketed out! Mind you we have now had two heavy downpours this afternoon/evening. I need to parcel up a couple of railway items for a lucky auction winner. These will be posted tomorrow. A neighbour had a few" refreshers" too many a couple of weeks ago. He fell and hit his head then went to bed. He didn't wake up. Tomorrow is his funeral and wake. Unfortunately her indoors and myself have appointments to do other things tomorrow so bless you Dave! Baz
