RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2019 Good morning. Sunny here, not that warm but quite pleasant. The trek to the pavement to deposit the bin bag wasn’t too arduous. I don't think I have any specific plans other than putting the final crates of model railway stuff back in the garage. Have a good day. Tony

As we do every 10 years or so. The fact that we are approaching what is called full employment, no matter how poor some of the jobs are, is usually a sign of increasing wages for a short period, which appears to have started, a squeeze therefore on companies profits... and then it all goes pear shaped. I suspect that you are right Q - Not wanting to be overly negative, but I think we are heading for a very rocky period worldwide. We haven't really recovered from the last economic crash, and the usual method during times of economic downturn is to decrease interest rates. That's effectively no longer possible without going into negative territory which will encourage people to be even less fiscally responsible. Not a good combination if you ask me. RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted May 15, 2019 (edited) Good morning all, Another sunny start here and a fine day is forecast. Today will see me shifting boards etc from the old railway room to the new. SiL Steve is coming to assist as a couple of the boards are a bit big to get down the stairs on my own (although I got them up there) He's also giving me a hand with some other stuff around the garden and taking down and removing the gazebo that I borrowed from him. (and anything else I can think of while he's here) Must dash, much to do. Have a good one, Bob. Edited May 15, 2019 by grandadbob

RMweb Gold Popular Post Kingzance Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted May 15, 2019 Good morning sundry and awl, A serious lack of activity in the RM dept yesterday as I had to do all the chores beforehand and dropped in on the Eng v Pak cricket to see a fantastic catch by Willey (less of that sniggering at the back Mr Johnstone). This prompted a delay moving towards the RM dept and suddenly the lights went out (no, this isn't deepest DARKEST Hertfordshire or recalling a bash on the head by herself but a lack of power meant a lack of muggercoffee/tea/cocoa or anything else. This prompted KZ to depart for the local establishment listed as purveyors of falling-down water and the rest of the evening was spent in the manner of 15-2, 15-4 and the rest won't score. SWMBO by the way adjourned to her boudoir as "there's nuffin on the tele". Coincidentally, power was restored as I was about to open the front door some six hours and a few pints after we were first denied service. Orders have been placed with some railway modelling suppliers for collection at a forthcoming event in Buckinghamshire, meaning very few modelling tokens remain in the piggy bank but my locos should ultimately look a lot better with proper crews, lamps, accurately proportioned wheels, coupling and connecting rods and the like. Today a trip north is planned to visit our son's residence, to provide him with some pre-made multi-pin 19A-rated cables and connectors (I possess the required special crimping tool and do not wish to place it on permanent loan to him; he can have it when I'm gone) to further his astronomy-based photographic enterprises. A further justification for said road-trip is to allow SWMBO's gnashers to be inspected by our nice Romanian dentist and to do some G-related activities. We plan to meet up with an old chum (canine) and her walkers (who hopefully will offer some comestibles for the inner man - usually of the highest order at that establishment). Good wishes to all sufferers and those anticipating trials and tribulations. Even though the weather is not unpleasant here, no Kingzance knees will be used to frighten any gathering of people. Upwards and onwards...

As its 4.2m long it wont fit in the car so had to carry it home in two trips. yet to bring it in through the house as been busy carrying the large insulation sheets as it was delivered nice and early. Today some of this will be fitted to the roof area. Vapour barrier partly installed yesterday. RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2019 Good morning everyone From yet another sunny area of the country. Breakfast has now been consumed and I will shortly head back down to the cellar to carry on with the plasterboard work. I forgot to mention last last night that my order from Langley arrived yesterday and is currently sitting on my workbench in the workshop awaiting building, but that will have to wait until weekend. Enjoy the sunshine. Back later
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2019 Morning all from Estuary-Land. As reported bright and sunny this morning and the bees are already swarming over the Ceanothus (California lilac) just outside the patio doors. At least three varieties of bee, bumble, honey and one other that I'm not sure of. Sorting out some more stuff for the lads layout, found a small building suitable for a station and a few other bits. Thats it for now, be back later.
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2019 Morning all, The sun is shining, the rubbish bin was emptied before the sparrows got noisy, the lad is enofficed in the dining room, herself is off for a pedicure, and most important of all I must not forget that a packet of bacon reaches its expiry or whatever it is date today. So you can guess what I will be doing before I'm much older. Then I have no doubt that the g word will be voiced loudly once again, and again, and again ....... Makers of tar paper. My mum was their first book keeper when they started to grow into a larger corporation. My first job at 15 was in their retail warehouse. Started just cleaning up. Within a week I was driving the fork lift and doing all the shipping/receiving as the old b*gger who was supposed to be doing it spent his days in the office chain smoking and drinking coffee by the gallon. Sadly he dropped dead on the office steps of a massive heart attack 6 months later. Today they are known for frequent fires in the various asphalt and fibreboard plants. True to firm there was a Walmatian in front of us at the till. In her 20's and so big that I told Rachel that both she and Laura could hav got into the shorts she was wearing. Fortunately I have a strong stomach and my breakfast stayed in place. Beth was trying to keep a straight face. Then we spoke to the kids and little Emily before meeti g our friends avter lunch. After chatting we went to Folsom and saw the historic town centre and the closed railway museum. Then a chinese meal at the appropriately named Fats. Now back at the motel and about to break out the beer. Tomorrow we head for Nevada. Goodnight all. Jamie Jamie, You're obviously made of MUCH stronger stuff than me! Last time I was in a Walfart was at least 6 years ago when Trevor had his first teaching job in southern Minnesota. About the ONLY place to shop in that rural part of the land was a Walfart. I had difficulty keeping my lunch down watching the sad excuses for "people" that came and went I continue to be amazed that so many of them seem to defy serious heart attacks at young ages! Some of the kids, half my height were at least my weight. Oh well... Morning all, happy HUMP day Some good news yesterday, the Orelly men will be starting work on our "other house" today. There's a fair amount of outdoor work on the egress window wells to do, and they are going to start on that (no permit required), even though the indoor work still can't start due to the EFFICIENCY of local government. Apparently the planning department have been deluged with permit requests and are getting backed up so the "10 business days to process" is now reported to be 2-3 weeks In client news, a new hire in the finance department is very diligent and has managed to already come up with a couple of new report request, no rest for the wicked. So as not to disappoint (someone asked, you know who you are ), here's a picture of the pedestrian/utilitarian people mover I have this week... Weather here taking a turn for their normal, 8 and sunny already driving in, with 19 for the high later. Continue as planned everyone. 19

It is always worth checking the government’s askMid site to check if your vehicle is recorded as insured. I always do this on renewal to make sure my insurance company has updated the policy and database. I believe this is the database that the police use for checks. 2 2
RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2019 I am varying my tasks today. I am not just putting stuff back in the garage I trying to rationalise it, scenic stuff, electronics, and so on. In between I am updating various devices anti virus software. All of the licences run out on the same day. Aditi said when she finishes her tasks she is going to sit in the garden. I may join her. Snoring. I know I do sometimes as Aditi will tell me. As she isn’t exactly a light sleeper it must have been loud. She used to snore but it must perhaps have been an a feature of undiagnosed diabetes. However recently it was quite amusing. She was snoring and woke herself up, probably an echo and insisted it was me. She did believe me. 13
Popular Post AndyID
In Durango now. Drove through Sedona on the way but it was so busy I didn't hang about. The route goes through the four corners but as I had not downloaded the map for New Mexico my GPS tried desperately to keep me out of NM by sending me on unpaved back roads. I ignored it.

RMweb Premium New Haven Neil Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2019 It's quite a popular car here, Tony. Fiestas and Hyundai i30/i20 are probably the most popular though.
