RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted May 14, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted May 14, 2019 Not a bad day today, no honestly. No mishaps occurred. Timber for shelving arrived and is in place in the shed so I've now got plenty of room for loco and coaching stock storage. "Carpetman" turned up just about on time to measure up for artificial grass. Tomorrow should see the old boards being moved into the shed but I won't be able to do any layout building for a little while yet. Kids were here earlier and as usual brought a smile to my normally miserable visage. Still aching all over so liquid medication has been taken, possibly not quite enough yet.
RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted May 14, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted May 14, 2019 Evening. Fraggle Rock bakes in 18c shock......it's hot for here at this time of year! Takes a while for the moderating sea to warm up. Fraggles wandering about semi-naked (not this one!) in case this IS summer. Actually achieved more than I set out to do today at work, this may be a record!

That has felt like an abrupt change. 4

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 14, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 14, 2019 Evening all from Estuary-Land. I once didn't use Tesco that often I used to stroll down into town almost every day but now as I'm growing older the pins are not up to it. If I'm going to use the car Tesco's has the advantage of free parking, the parking fees in the town centre are extortionate and many of the stores have closed leaving it like a ghost town. 2 hours ago, New Haven Neil said: Evening. If anyone feels like chipping in any ideas, bear in mind that I will be right at the back of a very long procession. All the stars like the Band of the Royal Marines, the Amazon float, all surviving Routemaster buses and Tom Daley will be long gone by the time the Individuals Group moves off, rather closer to dusk than I might have wished. Chris Chris,, Just keep well away from those nasty buses! Bill 2

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted May 14, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 14, 2019 Good morning everyone This morning’s Sainsbury’s Grand Prix went without a hitch, in fact I was back home within an hour, there were a few bottles of our favourite wine at reduced prices, so the wine cellar was duly topped up. Once I’d put away all the shopping and had a muggertea I put my wetsuit outside on the washing line to dry. After dinner I made the carrot that had been requested for tomorrow night and whilst it was in the oven, I went outside and turned my wetsuit inside out, to give the inside a bit of an air. By early evening it was dry and I’m hoping to go to Salford Quays again on Thursday evening. Goodnight all

RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted May 15, 2019 Evening all from Roseville. Our day started after breakfast with a trip to Walmart. True to firm there was a Walmatian in front of us at the till. In her 20's and so big that I told Rachel that both she and Laura could hav got into the shorts she was wearing. Fortunately I have a strong stomach and my breakfast stayed in place. Beth was trying to keep a straight face. Then we spoke to the kids and little Emily before meeti g our friends avter lunch. After chatting we went to Folsom and saw the historic town centre and the closed railway museum. Then a chinese meal at the appropriately named Fats. Now back at the motel and about to break out the beer. Tomorrow we head for Nevada. Goodnight all. Jamie
Robert
Morning All, It is a nice bright morning in this part of the world. Sunny, but still very cold. It was down to 4°C this morning - which isn't unusual, but we haven't seen it in the last few years. Time for a coffee! Have a good day everyone...
Popular Post chrisf
Good morning one and all, with thanks to Bill for sound advice as always Some m*d*ll*ng got done yesterday in the shed where the layout lives. I still feel like the snail who spends all day climbing up a wall only to slip back again overnight but one must not rush things. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! In the evening Poorly Pal and I went to a Hitchin branch RCTS meeting. At the end we discovered once again that those attending a meeting in tne adjoining church have no clue whatsoever of how to park cars. Tonight Area Group meets in a pub that is new to most of us. It is just too far from Harpenden station to justify taking the train and walking at each end of the journey and it looks as though we will be spending much of the meeting arguing about where we will meet for lunch in two months' time. After a welcome respite there may be turmoil ahead. The other half of the problematic relationship has taken to not answering questions that I ask him on Messenger, for various reasons the only means of communication open to us, and I don't understand why. Asking more questions presents obvious difficulties! Clearly we have a problem and I'm not at all sure how soluble it is. The worst case scenario is that the friendship comes to an end. Some would welcome that outcome and I can see why but it is not at all what I want. Ironically, in a conversation in March he told me to "answer the question". Sounds like a plan to me! Meanwhile I believe I can hear the black dog scratching at the door of his kennel. Re-establishing contact with Sarah the counsellor may not be a bad idea. Another day in paradise tomorrow, folks. Best wishes to all Chris 4
RMweb Premium TheQ Posted May 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2019 (edited) Mooring Awl Inner Temple Hare, 6 hours 40 minutes of solid sleep yippee. I enjoyed that. Although on opening my eyes there was a bit of panic as it was daylight, it was however 04:45 and just before dawn. Nice picture reminding me of My schooldays from Gwiwr looking down river from Ness (Tomnahurich street) Bridge about 500 yards from my old school. In 18 days time we will be looking forward to dawn as during the 3 Rviers Race it's much easier to count all the boats through when you can see them. Also of course it's starts getting warmer as the sun comes up Across Hicking broad . This morning there is mist on the rivers and little wind, at the moment the forecast for the start on Saturday 1st June is north easterly (not good) 6mph (not enough) gusting 14 ( just about enough), Switching to southwesterly overnight 8mph (still not enough). Watching a economics bit on TV and the experts are generally saying with or without Trump, with or without Brexit, we are coming up to another economic crash. As we do every 10 years or so. The fact that we are approaching what is called full employment, no matter how poor some of the jobs are, is usually a sign of increasing wages for a short period, which appears to have started, a squeeze therefore on companies profits... and then it all goes pear shaped. Well, having mention temperature, I suppose i'd better wander down the lab and get on with testing that temperature meter.. But first, Time to check the company spam..
