RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 30, 2019 (edited) Evening each, One happy bunny GDB here. Shed up and completed by just after lunch and I am very pleased with the result. Just got to wait for Ricky the Sparks to do his magic next Tuesday and Wednesday and then I can start thinking about the next stage. However there is the (not so) small matter of a complete garden revamp as well. Overall size of shed is 18'x 8' but there is a partition inside just under 8'x4' for garden tools etc leaving me just under 14' x 8' for "another purpose. " Also rather pleased that there was a surplus of the lining (9mm ply) I might just have a use for that! Can't wait to get started. RMweb Gold Popular Post 81C Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 30, 2019 Two rails fixed today I was going great guns whet the bloody slitting disc grabbed the rail and things started flailing around I've now got 5 welts on my stomach and a very bent arbor A new one has been ordered for tomorrow but for years I've been using that tool it's the first it's kick like a mule, the arbor must have had a bend in it the way I went through a pile of disc today I have a vague Idea HER must have dropped it on the floor. I thought there might be an invite to the house of Sutt for the topping out ceremony today, it's all gone very quiet still he might post a photo of his new playroom tomorrow. Oh look what's just popped up, it looks very nice Bob a lick of green preserve wouldn't go a miss. Enjoy. W.Ounded. 6
RMweb Gold grandadbob Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 30, 2019 (edited) It is treated with a (very) light brown preservative inside and out Bob and they've recommended doing it again in 3/4 months and I've got the stuff from them already. RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 30, 2019 Does anybody want a VHS video recorder? I have just found two in the garage roof! I know that they came from my late father's video editing suite, but have no idea how I came to have them. One can only assume that they were placed in the roof by the PH.......................I can blame him as he is not here to defend himself.
RMweb Gold grandadbob Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 30, 2019 That's a shame Richard. About a month or so ago we binned the last few VHS tapes we had as our old recorder snuffed it! We managed to replace the tapes we really liked with DVDs. 10

RMweb Gold grandadbob Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 30, 2019 (edited) Not quite big enough premises KZ and in the wrong area. Having looked at the photos of Sunday's SWAG meeting I really wish I could have gone, maybe next year. I believe they let furriners in and as I have Cornish ancestors I should be OK anyway. Currently sitting in the conservatory with my 3rd pint admiring a "new build." Edited April 30, 2019 by grandadbob
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 30, 2019 Evening all from Estuary-Land. Facebook seems to have made changes that make it more difficult if not impossible to keep a check on ones groups. In fact the group listing has disappeared altogether to be replaced with a list of recommended groups. It was bad enough when they put them in sh1t order but now I can't see my groups in any order.
RMweb Premium AndyB Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 30, 2019 The only VHS tape I've got that I'd want to keep is a short clip of me pulling 7g on the centrifuge. Would like to show the kids some day. The slight problem is I've no idea which one of the dozens of old tapes it is on. And no way of playing them all back. Hey-ho. GDB is the shed insulated? Loops like it is with a skim of ply on the inside? Greenhouse is starting to fill up with this year's crop of veg. and herbs.

Popular Post Simon G
Evening al, I haven’t posted here for a while, due to a variety of reasons, mostly to do with being away in places with little or no internet, then being too busy. I am currently away again, but this time down in Berkshire with my mother, where I do get a connection, and have time to post. Easter was hectic with us having visitors, and walking most days, as well as getting some guarding on the Ratty. One of our Easter walks was a circuit of Crummock Water, which is one of our favourite walks. The picture below is of Crummock looking over the lake to the west.

Sounds like the slitting disc may have clogged?
RMweb Premium Popular Post Gwiwer Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 30, 2019 Evening all A somewhat better day today with a brighter happier SWMBO up to a point. That point was the hour in which she received news that her mother, the Dragon-in-Law, is being airlifted from a remote FNQ (Far North Queensland) town into Brisbane for investigation of an “inconclusive” bowel cancer screening. The fact that the Royal Flying Doctor Service is taking her there implies urgency though in fairness she is a good couple of days drive from the nearest suitable hospital. And then there was news that SWMBO had lost a university friend to cancer during the day. Not unexpected as she had been alerted to his likely passing a few days ago but still that awful and sudden sense of loss. We leave Tuesday still in a better place than Monday and are thankful for the up-swing in SWMBO mood despite her news. Tomorrow I shall be visiting Guildford to be relieved, no doubt, of modelling tokens. It will refocus on the hobby which I have had to turn away from in recent weeks. Sleep well April; let us welcome May when we wake.

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted April 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 30, 2019 Good evening everyone As predicted this morning, a take a trip to Waitrose was mentioned today, but thankfully both the Sainsbury’s and Waitrose Grand Prix's were completed before dinner. I did Sainsbury’s on my own and was accompanied on the Waitrose trip. However, it didn’t end there, after dinner we went to Costco too, but to be fair, it got it all done in the one day, which means we don’t have to do anymore, well, not until the end of the week. Of course, all this shopping activity has meant that there has been no work done on making stand No 4 or in the cellar, but such is life. GDB. Nice shed! 14 1

lightengine
Spent the afternoon rolling DAS and (hopefully) glueing it onto the plaster bandaged polystyrene bridge that I made some time ago. After getting it all in place and smoothed out I decided to scribe it whilst wet. It went quite well although a stone mason might be critical of my style of stonework. 17
Popular Post chrisf
Good morning Lords and Ladies, it is the first of May. After a reassuring bowl of cornflakes, bran flakes, hot milk and a banana it's off to Ampthill where Hemlock Morris and Golden Hare will dance up the dawn at Katharine's Cross. Gentle reader, expunge from your troubled mind any thought of cabbages dancing in pub car parks! After an hour of this neo-pagan ritual there will be hunger, thirst and an alehouse open for breakfast. All being well I will have an annual reunion with cherished friends and you may rest assured that it will take more than one pint and more than one pub to put the world to rights. Now, shall I launch my new hoodie on an unsuspecting world? Best wishes to all Chris 21
RMweb Premium TheQ Posted May 1, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 1, 2019 Mooring Awl < inner Temple Hare, A good nights sleep although only six hours, I was absolutely Knackered yesterday when I got home from work, even though I wasn't doing anything strenuous mentally or physically.. The new temporary traffic lights outside the Cremated Swan turn out to be for a new fibre optic BT cabinet. it being situated on the outside of a 90 degree corner only about 5ft in from the road edge I wonder how long that will survive,.. Fist and Mog all the way into day and at one point I had to turn the car heating up as went went through some sort of definate cold Spot. The first run of this weeks major equipent has gone reasonably well, just one section failed first time, I'll be investigating the results shortly and then seeing which exact bit needs a rerun. Time to... check the company spam... 14
