I believe that it may actually be a separate product that you by as extended warranty. And in fact the two quotes we have so far are broadly comparable - apart from the price. Andy check carefully as some of these companies only used to offer the guarantee while the original; purchaser still lived in the house so the timescale bit almost v becomes irrelevant if you have moving in mind within a few years. 6

Perhaps it was the pellets.

Popular Post chrisf
Good morning one and all The malady lingers on but the coughing fit first thing in the morning was a bit less intense today. Last night I managed to doze off whilst watching Comic Relief so I retired to bed, only to lapse into slumber thanks to a couple of issues of RAIL. I enjoyed "Fisherman's Friends" at the multiplex yesterday afternoon but could not tell you what liberties had been taken with the story. A packet of wine gums helped me mute the coughing fits. What I did not enjoy yesterday morning was falling over in the supermarket. I had managed to scatter a box of tablets and in the process of putting them back on the shelf managed to overbalance. Such is the process of evolution or, as some call it, decline, that things like that are bound to happen again. Oh, the shame. I need to trudge into town this morning but not for long. Spending the day quietly looks like a good idea. I'm still agonising over what to do about the 4square gig next Friday. The cost of a hotel room is out of all proportion to its value and if I travel to London for the gig on Friday and Ally Pally the next day I stand a fighting chance of meeting myself coming in the other direction. Best wishes to all Chris 3 1
RMweb Premium TheQ Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 16, 2019 Mooring Awl, Inner Temple Hare, The usual 5 hours plus a bit of dozing on the sofa, not helped by Ben the Border Collie, leaping up out bed, coming to me every time I moved and needed to find a more comfortable position. The wind is building up again gusting 45mph, a short time ago it was raining heavily and It's expected to get worse. With the forecast it's lucky to days plans were to continue working on the inside of the garage, I have in my head plans of what I want to do but no doubt some of that will change once I start building.... First however load the washing machine, breakfast, and a Muggacoffee.. 5
RMweb Gold grandadbob Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Good morning all, Still very breezy here but at least it's dry at the moment although there is the chance of some rain or drizzle. Three rugby matches to watch today and here's hoping Ireland can do England a favour although we've still got to beat Scotland. The Boss is off out this afternoon with Nicki, Abbie and some friends for some cocktail making lessons and after that they're all going for a meal. My mate Russ from next door is coming in to watch the rugby so it should be a good day. I have a nice looking piece of fillet steak which will be tenderly and lovingly cooked for about two to two and a half minutes each side later this evening. This morning I may do some more loco packing. Have a good one, Bob. Edited March 16, 2019 by grandadbob
RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 16, 2019 Morning all from a slightly brighter village than yesterday. We had a good day yesterday with 15 other grey haired people of a like mind. I must have done something right. Normally the gathering splits into two after the lunch. Some sort of ladies/partners chatting circle for non railway minded people, and the rest having a short meeting then gathering round the hosts layout/project. Well all 16 of us ended up in the shed gathered round the layout. One member did complain about how far he had to walk to get to the shed, you always get one. However it seemed to go very well. Full picture story on the layout thread. There is however one terrible thing that has come out of it. Not all of Beth's cakes got eaten. It appears that I am going to be forced to help to finish them, I don't know how I'll cope. We had a quiet evening after that and some G & T, for SWMBO, and amber nectar for myself got consumed. Breakfast has now been taken and we are heading off into Nere for a couple of things. Not a lot else is on the agenda so some rugby may be watched. Good wishes to all. RMweb Premium Barry O Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 16, 2019 Ey up, less windy today but it is chuckinitdarn here. As I didn't complete crust earning tasks yesterday I will finish them today...I hope. Hopefully I have no domestic tasks to do over the weekend. I do have to attend a cricket meeting tomorrow in Derbyshire though. Should be a good meeting though. Enjoy your day, however you can. Baz
RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Morning all. We will be off to Enfield later. We both had episodes of sleeplessness overnight. At about 4am I at least while awake sorted out why my brother couldn’t send me a message on Facebook Messenger. Some permission setting on my account. Yesterday I also helped a neighbour with her Mac Pages problem. I didn’t know the answer but I do now. Not sure why Apple hide “save as” in a file menu but I can make it appear now. I still haven’t had a letter informing me whether or not my car is part of the Jaguar Land Rover recall for excessive emission remedies. Although it has the 2 litre petrol engine it is a higher horsepower version than most. Some Evoques will get replacement tyres. I bet I don’t qualify though. Popular Post Sir TophamHatt
Although I'm dog tired today, I'm excited! I was disheartened at the shuttle feature not working on the layout last night, so did a fair bit of ballasting instead, which means it's getting closer to putting the front board on, meaning I can finish the track laying and get some trains running roundy roundy. Good as I spent £250 on an S Stock that I want to get out and about! Even better is I'll be able to try out a lovely S bend, banked and all! The good lady had a sharp stabbing pain in her womb area too. She was a bit worried but Dr Google told her others have felt this and worked out it was the egg implanting. She is due a period in the next 5-7 days, but we have a blood test on Tuesday that will confirm what's happening. I really hope it's good news for both our sakes. IVF isn't nice to go through at all - feel especially guilty as it's me that has the problem, not her.
RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 16, 2019 Our Not-God-Daughter (not religious but would care for her if needed) was IVF, she's at Uni now....so keep at it! I see the UK is cut off again, luckily we're on the right side this time. Rather wet and windy, outside is the same. I haven't been given orders of the day yet as Mrs NHN is at Pilates, the peace is due to be broken any moment though. Time to have a look at the two Dapol O Gauge wagons i accidentally bought whilst we were away...... 18
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 16, 2019 Morning all, All I can say is that it's a darned good job jamie has a shed the size of a barn if he's going to start hosting house parties in it. Weather wise today we seem to have 'almost rain' - like it's almost about to rain - so not bad thing to have cancelled bricklaying for the day. But we definitely don't have 'almost wind' as it is still regarded as 'yellow' by the seaweed wranglers and is occasionally gusting fairly impressively. No shopping today as far as I'm so far not informed. We moved faux Friday to the real thing yesterday so are reasonably well stocked up (or so I'm told) and I don't always bother with a 'paper on Saturday as there is so much of it to immediately put in the recycling. Have a good day folks.
RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Hmm. I have been asked to help with some domesticky stuff. Apparently the Dyson hoovery thing has been missing me and needs my attention. Whilst my new shed will in no way compare in size to Jamie's it has been suggested (by several people) that it will be big enough to put a bar in and that would be a better use for it. Much as I would like a bar I have gently pointed out that that is not what it is being built for. ........might put a fridge in though for some cold drinks in the summer. RMweb Premium Popular Post Gwiwer Posted March 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 16, 2019 Morning all, Very windy it is Upon the Hill. But of necessity a trip must be made to the cat-food seller before long. And a thorough inspection shall be made of the items named after fighting vessels lately arrived from Camborne which were cursorily viewed and test-run yesterday. Chrisf that cough is a right b*gg*r and still troubles me slightly at times three months on from its arrival. In the end the GP prescribed me antibiotics and the blue inhaler to help shift it. I still use the later on occasions. Yesterday was not a good one. I reached the point at which I felt my head might explode. The tiniest thing triggered it. SWMBO requested toast which I duly provided; she gazed at it and harrumphed "White toast then". Toast is made with white bread here by default but brown is always available upon request. It was not requested. I spent a good ten minutes out in the kitchen, head-in-hands, wondering what I had to do to make things right. In the end I gave up and went out for a walk. It was tempting to stop at a couple of local Houses of Falling-Down Water along the way but the self-control was just still functioning. I came home and wasn't able to sleep for ages with a head-full of noise. Finally having dropped off at some point in the small hours I was then woken by the return of Neighbours (Upstairs) who had been out somewhere. While not at all noisy the footsteps on the stairs and floor were enough to disturb me. A half-hour later at 03.50 someone left with a bang of doors, walked around to the car park, started a car which idled for around ten minutes before being driven away. Today is rugby day. I shall do my best to avoid the town centre. But I may find myself becoming part of the crowd if I head out for drinks later. Stay well. Best wishes to one and all. 3
