RMweb Premium Popular Post AndyB Posted April 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 23, 2018 Evening all, The phone tinkled into life this morning and I answered with my normal greeting: "Good morning, this is Andy's voicemail, please leave a message, or for preference, don't." As it happens it was the boss asking how I felt about a week in Wales, starting immediately. "Erm." was my first reaction, as a means of eliciting a glimpse of the in-depth requirement. "Good!" was her interpretation of my self-defence/sloping shoulder "Erm". "Does this get me out of all the things I was meant to be doing?" "Sure DOES!" So, armed with £5.60 I shall be setting off, and based on TPH's weather report, I'll be packing the suntan cream! Hoorah!
RMweb Premium Popular Post NGT6 1315 Posted April 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 23, 2018 I don’t think I would feel comfortable as a royal figure! Elise is taking 18 months of parental leave, so she’ll return to work in February 2019. I‘m taking two for myself and our plan is to visit my aunt in deep southern Bavaria in May, and my mum and dad on the Baltic in August. Annika may very well be able to play on the beach by then!
lightengine
Except he didn't Delay tactics from this kim character, biding his time re-unifying the Korea's under his "leadership", with nukes the other side has no option but to surrender their wealth to the Pyongyang elite. Cue the introduction of the Red Khmer "re-education camps" on an even larger scale and much more lethal for pro-US Koreans And an exodus of Koreans to Hawaii and Continental US, including factories, capital and other resources and the imminent closure of Seoul's (heavy) industries. All that'll be left are empty buildings. Oh sorry Dutchman, Ive removed my tongue from my cheek now.
RMweb Premium New Haven Neil Posted April 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 23, 2018 Evening. My best wishes to those ill, black dogged or just pi$$ed off. Or all three. It's no fun. A busy weekend was had, and a step forwards in Frankenfoot-ology. I went out on a bike (Mrs NHN's BMW - it was at the front....and more importantly had petrol in it!) just to the club (5 miles) to see how I managed. The went to Laxey for an icecream, and.....about 80 miles later got home. This was a big day really, other than one short ride last autumn it was my first time out for 14 months since the accident. Of course the foot was killing afterwards, but real tangible progress. There was a time when I wondered if I could ride again - it's the gear changing foot and upwards pressure is MOST unpleasant - but it is now bearable. Happy NHN.
Ozexpatriate
Any chance this might knock Trump ... off the news for a few days? please Sadly there's plenty of room over here for both the weekly, weekend twitterstorm and the beaming parents. Oh and another random shooting and van attack of pedestrians. At least the spring weather is nice. I will be out of town but we are forecasting record highs (high 20s) for the next couple of days. RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted April 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 23, 2018 Evening all. Not sure if I am late on parade or arrived early for tomorrow. Redcar That's the one which goes fastest. As I recall any fast escape from that place is a good one unless it's just along to the even-worse desolation which is Cargo Fleet I have struggled to locate a document buried deep in a pile of electrons called Webmail tonight. It is required for tomorrow. An hour and a few blue mutterings after beginning the search a muggertee was enjoyed. Moments later the document was located, printed and the electronic file moved to where it should have been in the Admin folder. I am now off to bed safe in the knowledge of something or other.

RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted April 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 23, 2018 Good evening everyone Well it’s been a busy old day here. After dropping Sheila off at her Zumba class loaded down with cakes, I returned home via my local DIY shop to buy some fixing brackets for the radiator covers, as the big orange ones I wanted. Whilst I was there I also bought some wood treatment and paint stripper, as I noticed I’ve got a bit of rot showing up on the workshop, which I want to tackle before it gets any worse. I then returned home and filled in the few blemishes on the radiator cover tops that I noticed over the weekend, once done I made myself a muggertea and had a short break. Whilst the filler was hardening I cleaned the brassware on the front door. After I’d finished the front door I returned to the cellar and re-primed the radiator cover tops. I then made a start top coating the rest of the radiator cover parts, completing one set of parts before dinner. After dinner I gave all the remaining radiator cover parts a top coat, finishing off as much as could be done just before 3:00, which nicely brought on a mid afternoon muggertea. Although I now fear that cleaning the brassware was a waste of time as it started to rain around 5:00, fecking typical! Luckily it was only light rain and had stopped altogether by 7:30. Neil. Glad you enjoyed the bike ride, that’s another step forward (pun intended) on the road to recovery. Goodnight all.

Robert
Morning All, We have a much more seasonal temperature this morning. It is also a clear morning - looking out of my office window I get a very good view of the Großer Feldberg and the Frankfurt skyline in the distance. There isn't an awful lot else to report, so have a good day everyone...
Popular Post Ozexpatriate
It's nice to see Springtime arrive. These are some ornamental cherries in a local office campus car park - taken on Saturday.. The geese at work have their goslings - seven so far. chrisf
Good morning one and all – a bit late on parade this morning The weird goes on. Whilst looking for something else on YouTube I found “Music Box Dancer” by Frank Mills, which was all over the radio getting on for 40 years ago but as far as I know never charted in the UK. Result: floods of tears, soppy date that I am. Later I felt the first stages of a gloom cloud descending and opted for a pre-emptive strike by venturing into the garden. The volume of vegetation in the green bin remains encouraging but the quantity remaining to be culled most certainly does not. Some therapy that turned out to be. In mid afternoon my frustrating attempt to ascertain the venue of a concert in June saw me sending a PM to South Africa, my reasoning being that the artiste should know where she is due to sing! Around teatime I returned to the captions that I drafted on Saturday and applied the fine tuning that should have been done on Sunday. This morning the fodder run will be accomplished in as short a time as possible. I need also to visit the bank and hope that its self-service account management terminals behave themselves this time. Tony and Aditi, what I have to say about insurance companies is not for polite company but a summary is that insurance covers everything except what happens. Warm thoughts to you, Debs, Simon, Mal, Andy P, Andyram, owners of black dogs and all in distress. Chris

RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted April 24, 2018 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) Mooring Awl, Inner Temple Here, Again I fell asleep an hour early and therefore woke an hour early, but a reasonable total of sleeping hours was achieved. The road to work is now lined by trees in blossom like that shown by Ozexpatriate, interspersed by those in white and lime green. my own garden is showing similar outbursts. However the weather womble this morning assures us that over the next few days we shall have thunder, hail, strong winds and later frost. so I fear this years harvest will not be good... To night I intend relighting the fire.. I noticed on the way in another sailing club is advertising an open day on May 5th Funnily enough this is the day of our try sailing event. Our open day / try sailing event has been on this or near week end for many years and when they started the Horning boat show that was tied in with it.. Some how there other sailing clubs notices are appearing alongside the boat show signs, am I being suspicious? Many years ago While training in the RAF a junior officer charged the personnel living in one side of our accomodation block for not cleaning windows. Luckily for me My side was on the lee side away from the rain..... This was the same pratt that when we moved blocks made us remove all the varnish from the brass fittings so we could polish them several times a week... Well the last couple of major services have shown a problem which I have passed on to the boss, he is now investigating with the ood instruction to remeasure something or other. Mean time I'm measuring another one as per the schedule. Time to go do some work... Edited April 24, 2018 by TheQ

RMweb Gold Popular Post tomparryharry Posted April 24, 2018 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 24, 2018 Good morning Folks. A dull, grey day down here in Newport. Slight dampness, but warm. After much furtling about here, I've finally found my modelling paint boxes. They've been stowed away for 2-3 years, but, like a lot of things, 'temporarily displaced'. This means I will finally start putting some mineral wagons together. The downside is the uncanny knack, whereby Mrs Smith will produce a long list of jobs which require getting done. Swindon beckons tomorrow. A few colleagues & myself are doing some background research on a full-size Pontnewynydd brake van. Some more artefacts have been kindly offered from an unexpected quarter. Have a nice day, everyone. Cheers, Ian.
RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted April 24, 2018 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 24, 2018 Morning to all and the awl from a village slightly north of the M62. No cherry blossom here at the moment. We used to have 4 mature trees opposite us and always had a great display for No 1 sons birthday. However they had to be felled due to disease a few years ago. Replacements were planted and they are now about 15 feet high and will no doubt start to flower in the next year or two. Our own cherry trees in France were in flower when we left, however those do bear fruit and we hope to be able to harvest a good crop in June. Yesterday went well and the biopsy was painless and done very quickly. The nurse thought that there would be no problems in the future but I should get my results in a couple of weeks. Some more tidying of the garage took place and a tip run is to be done after some shopping this morning. I believe that a lady gave birth to a baby boy yesterday. The young man will share a birthday with our eldest but unfortunately can't be given the name George despite being born on St Georges day. Apart from the tip run, more tidying will be done and hopefully some more boxes will be filled. Neil, I'm glad that the ride out went so well. Chrisf, I wish you luck kicking that dark dog back into it's kennel. To Mal, Simon and Debs, all the best. Regards to all others. Jamie

Chris Thanks Chris, I have to report that I'm 99.99% fit again now, but thanks again for your good wishes, I can come off your list of needy. I'm still taking things easy, mainly having a kip after lunch, and doing a little in my Shed of a mornings, then walk the dog. Really appreciated though. RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted April 24, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 24, 2018 (edited) Good morning everyone Like yesterday the weather seems a little dull, but as I'll be in the the cellar with a paint brush in hand, the weather doesn't make any difference. Hopefully by the end of today both radiator covers will be ready for bringing upstairs and installing in front of the dining room and living room radiators. Bow ie points earned and bit more space in th cellar will be the result. Enjoy whatever you've got planned for the day and I hope that whoever is struggling with the black dog, manage to keep it in it's kennel. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted April 24, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 24, 2018 Morning all from Estuary-Land. Its a bit overcast now but the sun was trying to peek through earlier. I noticed that the mayflower was out just before the hot spell, on Sunday I passed plenty of blossom and the fields of oil-seed rape were in full flower rather earlier than usual. C & C's to all ER's under the weather, be back later.
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted April 24, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 24, 2018 Morning all. A "bad" start to the day - woke up at 05:30 to see the train I was getting up early for running 30 early and already passing the "if you don't leave now you won't beat it" point. Went to check the camera in the garden and had a sudden horrible thought that I'd left it in test mode - and I had, so nothing captured. Sitting down at my desk drinking a brew and noticed a tyre turning move leaving Norwich, again too late to get it - don't know what this was but it's always something of interest, either slight through to very. They say it comes in threes so that the three over with for today. Of course in the grand scheme non of these things matter, they just about warrant a muttered "typical" and I move along. Have a good day all - very dull here at the moment.
Popular Post bbishop
Morning all, The call with HJ finalises the weekend as Epsom on Saturday and maybe only a couple of hours at Romford Sunday morning. The rest of the week is filling up - probably Canterbury tomorrow, dentist Thursday (filling has fallen out), conference in Woking Friday. At some point, scissors need to be applied to my hair and a mower applied to the back garden. Yesterday was interesting; after a couple of "not needed on scene", we had a very attractive young lady not long out of the shower. We were complemented by the truck, not for the attractiveness of the lass, but that we had already asked every single question. Then a heart attack, my colleague was needed in the truck (and even got to see the clot being busted in the operating theatre); I followed up on my own, probably beating the land speed record Bexleyheath to King's in a Yeti. Keep well all, Bill Edited April 24, 2018 by bbishop
