gordon s
Hi Mick, Everything 100% thanks, but wants to see me in another 6 weeks. He says there can be a recurrence so want's to do a regular check. That is bad news for me because he charges three times the medical aid rate! Still cheaper than a funeral though, but a funeral is a once off expence whilst his is recurring That's good news Don.. Don't give a second thought to the cost of your funeral. You shouldn't have to pay for it... Dull and overcast this morning. Had the Community Police over yesterday who gave us a clean bill of health, other than the driveway, where they suggested a 5.5m wide sliding gate. Looked at the pricing this morning and it will be cheaper to let the oiks steal the logs... Moving the logs away will be a tough call. Mrs S wants them there as they make the place look homely.. RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted July 12, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 12, 2010 Morning all. The overnight rain never materialised but it started really pouring down an hour ago. Gordon. Have you thought about posting a warning picture of your dogs near your logs? Friends of ours have those heavy duty sliding gates at the bottom of their drive. They don't live in a high crime area but they do have some nice cars and live on the edge of a wooded area. Two people who had been in the pub on the other side of the woods and had missed the bus tried to steal their neighbour's car. They chose the wrong car as my friend's neighbour returned from exercising his dog just as the thieves were trying to start the car. The neighbour is a police officer and his police dog did what it was supposed to. Tony
gordon s
Great idea Tony, but I doubt this mutt would scare anyone.....
DonBradley
The hardware shop in my building sell signs "Beware of the snake" with painted picture of a cobra. Your dog does look cute and friendly! (if he/she can get up enough energy to wag it's tail)
RMweb Premium eldavo Posted July 12, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2010 Morning All, Monday again. How did that happen? Looks to be a full set of oktas in place. Looks like I'll have to go into the office today to try and unpick all the "essential" updates that the system has applied to my PC that means I can no longer access the company network from home. Grrr! Have a good one all. I think I would opt for the recurring expense option if I were you Don. Cheers Dave
RMweb Premium 45156 Posted July 12, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2010 Morning All Dull but dry here, and bad news from the physio, who thinks that there is "something going on" in my shoulder and is not happy to continue treatment now until I see a specialist again - my GP had already stolen a march on her there, as he had already referred me, so now we are in limbo, and I have an appointment for next week to go to the production line clnic again. Also, as I predicted, there's been no baseboard time again - how does anybody actually get any modelling done when they own a house and have to do all the other tasks that entails?
DonBradley
Hi Stewart, Bad luck, but the physio has just confirmed your GP's concern, so it will probaby be for the best that they sort it out now. I Just hope that the Specialist can diagnose and fix the problem. Sorry about the baseboard postponement too, but look upon that as pleasure deferred. Robert
Also, as I predicted, there's been no baseboard time again - how does anybody actually get any modelling done when they own a house and have to do all the other tasks that entails? I often ask myself the same question. The irony of it is, that without the house you wouldn't have the space for a layout!
RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted July 12, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 12, 2010 I don't know how people who go out to work find time to make some of the fantastic models on this forum. I think I must be one of those people who is easily distracted. Tony
RMweb Premium skipepsi Posted July 12, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2010 I am one of those distractable people but mainly my teenagers are driving me to distraction I painted my baseboard more than two weeks ago now and even allowing for vapour dispersal it should have had track ballasted on it by now. Just this note has now taken 10 mins to write (busy office).

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted July 12, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 12, 2010 I am one of those distractable people but mainly my teenagers are driving me to distraction I painted my baseboard more than two weeks ago now and even allowing for vapour dispersal it should have had track ballasted on it by now. Just this note has now taken 10 mins to write (busy office). I've only got the one teenager but sometimes you wouldn't even think he was here! When he was little he needed a lot of attention and we were worried/concerned about health issues but I'm grateful the late-teenage years have been peaceful (so far!). Matthew commented last week that he thought I should spend more time on my hobby and he would take Robbie for his walks. I suggested I'd prefer some unloading/ loading of washing machines and dishwashers! It may be less peaceful here in a couple of weeks. By then my wife should have completed writing up her thesis and I suspect that she will notice all those "little jobs around the house" that she has been to busy to notice for the past few years. RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted July 12, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2010 It's quite windy up here, but that wind feels like it comes from a hairdryer and thus is hardly pleasant . There would seem to have been severe storms around the Cologne area already - however, none of those thunderstorms we were supposed to get in the Frankfurt area have materialized thus far! RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted July 12, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2010 Does that mean he's vindaloo all day? No, I guess this is an indication of a good korma . I just read how some numbnuts attacked several patrons at a restaurant with slingshots. I guess this proves that this heat does not do any good. RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted July 13, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 13, 2010 Morning all! Overcast outside, but I don't think we had any significant amount of rain - if at all. Now for some breakfast ... Cheers!
gordon s
Morning all... Well that's it, judging by the overcast sky and the gentle drizzle, summer has gone for another year. At least we had a good one. Soon be Christmas...
DonBradley
8C overnight. It required an effort of will to get out of bed where it was warm and cosy. Rain forecast for today and tomorrow, just showers for Thursday. Nice progress Dd. I am following with an almost proprietorial interest. I hear Gordon now wants a carpet snake, Longer and prettier than his grass snake. Have you checked fish numbers, Gordon? Have the Summer school vacations begun BoD? More track making in store? Robert
Morning All, It is quite pleasant outside this morning. We had a little bit of rain overnight - but nothing very much. It is supposed to warm up again later on. Have a good day everyone...
AMJ
The original Live Aid was on this day in 1985 - ooh that does make me feel old. I'll get out the DVD box set and watch it at work tonight.

RMweb Gold BoD Posted July 13, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 13, 2010 Have the Summer school vacations begun BoD? More track making in store? Another week and a half to go Don. In our County here we always wait until summer is over until our summer holidays. Those in County Hall always seem to choose the most illogical of dates for all holidays - must decide it by committee. To be fair to them it's all to do with balancing term lengths and ultimately revolves round that moveable feast, Easter. Very silly really.
