A friend who is a part time bookseller has a signed First Edition of "The Cuckoo's Calling" by Robert Galbraith.

It is, of course, J K Rowling.

So far he has been offered £1,750 for it.

He's also a Model Train enthusiast so I think his layout will shortly see some more stock!

Quite confused me there DD I thought is JK your friend and would £1750 cause any excitement.

I don't know JKR.

Never felt any inclination to change that situation.

I admire the success she's had with her hard work.

I suppose she's also made a contribution to Model Railways with the invention of Hogwarts Express.

I wonder if a signed letter from her would count as proof of her signature in a book?

Edited for lack of proof reading.

Dishwasher now in and functioning.

Half way through the installation (by me) the 'phone rang.

Would I like to take out breakdown Insurance?

There followed a discussion about their faith in the product which has a guarantee - 1 year parts and labour and a further 4 years parts only.

I don't even think she is a very good writer, am I alone in this?

Huge moneymaker for the Trade, though, but.

Best, Pete.

No doubt outsells Anthony Trollope or Jane Austen, which implies she writes what people today want. Add in the film rights, eagerly sought, and the other spin-offs, and I'd say she was utterly competent.

Justin Bieber does the same in music - does that make him better than Mozart or Beethoven? Of course not and I know you did not mean that, competent, yes.

His still a little tit, er, twit, sorry.....

Best, Pete.

A result!!

Brother in HK has been at the local hospital with Mum and they will now let them buy the chemo tablets tomorrow.

So I can now close the Cathay Pacific website and won't have to buy a £1700 return ticket to take the tablets out there myself which means I can load the layout tonight and take it to Alton Ltd show tomorrow as planned.

Thanks for the suggestions in this mornings posts.

Thank you everyone for your kind support and very-much appreciated words.

I`m still at the 'waves of tears' stage; I know it`ll ease, but I do feel totally overwhelmed in loss.

Best wishes to you all,

Deb.
