Redvers B
I wonder if someone could please help. I bought this model second hand a couple of years ago. I was initially intending to go DC and put this away until my layout is built. After recently changing my mind I'm in the expensive process of chipping my locos. However on opening it up I'm mystified. On the base of the model it says sound fitted...but I think it's just DC. I did put it on the programming track to check and it made a horrible screeching noise so assume it isn't DCC. I've no idea what I need to do to chip this - assuming it is possible - as I don't recognise the socket type. Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance. RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted 7 hours ago RMweb Gold Share Posted 7 hours ago (edited) It looks like the small piggyback PCB is a form of blanking plate that incorporates a motor suppression circuit and there’s a standard 8 pin socket under the blanking plate.
