RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted Wednesday at 17:31 RMweb Gold Share Posted Wednesday at 17:31 OK, here's a question. There was only one Ivor, wasn't there? If so, how does anyone with an Ivor- themed layout justify getting another one? Answers quoting 'Rule 1' are temporarily not acceptable. 1

Why would they want to? It's Ivor THE Engine. That there's only one of them is the point. As well as the changes in Ivor's physical appearance (whistles/pipes, number of wheel spokes etc) there is obviously scope for a special edition in monochrome... 1

You don’t necessarily need more than one 😉 2. You model the junction with the mainline and use other locos of an equally preposterous type, like the gold thing in the middle 😇 3. You repaint the second one and call it Aled so you can do Snowman tie ins. 4. Who needs rule one when you’ve got a Dragon to solve all arguments 😉 7 1 1

Sit him down and make him watch Chigley. Bessie, Lord Belborough and Brackett. Treddle's Wharf and Farthing's Chigley Pottery as resin rtp buildings. Not forgetting Cresswell's Chigley Biscuits. Trumptonshire has a plethora of modellable scenes. As discussed with a friend on the phone earlier. The whole Trumpton/Camberwick Green/Chigley has obviously had some bearing on my interests since watching them as a child. I can remember loads of things about them, but I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday Also clearly influenced somebody behind Life on Mars... I gave you an agree for your comment. Only later did I watch the video clip. Superb

RMweb Gold JIJ Posted Wednesday at 18:48 RMweb Gold Share Posted Wednesday at 18:48 I'm a big fan of the inclusion of the "fold up" models of the engine shed and water tower with Ivor, and Llaniog station with the wagons. Now if only there was somewhere for Owen the signal to snooze... 1

That there's only one of them is the point. Well, you quite often see folk on here, who say that they've ordered 3 of that loco and 5 of the other loco and may end up with 10 examples of something else, not necessarily in different liveries! Surely Rapido will want to encourage more sales - perhaps a second run of these is already being planned... What research has been done about Ivor's earlier liveries, for example? What about a weathered Ivor? And did he ever receive a top feed? Or a different chimney? 1 hour ago, colin smith said: You can't understand the appeal of this product by comparing it to or trying to place it within the context of a normal model railway. RailwayModeller927 Posted Wednesday at 19:01 Share Posted Wednesday at 19:01 Okay, saw the email from Rails of Sheffield earlier today. I know I don't have the required controllers and stuff for the sound, but I'm genuinely considering buying a sound fitted version. Even if I can't run it yet, at least I'll be happy knowing I've got something that I remember seeing when I was younger. Hats off to Rapido for this surprise announcement.
