Hi Accurascale,

Something I had previously brought up in the other 66 thread in regards to the cab end hand rail (at both ends) not being properly fixed/glued to the body which was apparent on all 8 of my current 66's as well as others in this thread and other social media outlets thus can you please ensure this is addressed by your team and at the factory for Run 2, also have that sound resonation issue thru the body and exhaust part investigated and resolved as well please.

As the DRS escort vehicles are two Mk2A's and two Mk2E's, and Accurascale for now have only done Mk2B's and C's, I think we might have a long wait.

Oh dear, my poor wallet!  It was already crying after run 1, but I think it may go into hiding after run 2!

 

A number of weeks ago I was out for the day and happened to be near a station.  I could hear the faint "ying ying" of a DRS 66/4 lurking in a passing loop.  Then, on the day of the run 2 announcement, I was at work and a GBRf 66/7 running light loco passes me going the other way.  I'm beginning to wonder if Accurascale are trying to use subliminal messages? 🤔 😂

 

In all seriousness, I was pleased to hear 66789 announced, as this was on my wishlist.  I've also opted for 66421 as I think it will compliment my other DRS fleet.

 

There are one or two others which are tempting, but how many 66s is too many?

I agree, the Accurascale team do listen to suggestions.

 

My top picks for the next batch are:

• 66718 "Peter, Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill, of Imber in the County of Wiltshire" in London Transport Museum black
• 66721 "Harry Beck" in London Transport Museum white
• 66719 "Metro-Land", 66720 "Metronet Pathfinder", or 66722 "Sir Edward Watkin" in Metronet/LU/First livery.  (Other two were: 66718 "Gwyneth Dunwoody" and 66721 "Harry Beck" prior to above.)
• 66113 DB red with "Delivering for our Key Workers" graphics

 

I know batch two features a 66/4 in Freightliner Powerhaul livery, which is rather tempting.  However, if I don't get it this time then it would be nice to see the livery again in a later batch.

 

Other noteworthy locos which may appeal to others are:

• 66100 "Armistice 100 1918-2018"
• 66413/66623 "Lest We Forget"
• 66614 "Poppy 1916 2016"
• 66418 "Patriot - In Memory of Fallen Railway Employees"
• 66734 "Platinum Jubilee" in Royal purple and silver, large Union Flag and official jubilee logos
• 66023 in DB blue with "Celebrating the King's Coronation" graphics
• 66/7 First GBRf blue/white/pink
• 66/8 Colas Rail with hard hat and diamond cab side logo variants

 

That's all I can think of at the moment, but I hope it gives others some food for thought and gets the ball rolling.

Please not, let us wait until batch 2 is close before inundating this thread with wish listing more liveries.

 

If not, it ends  up with not being able to see wood for the trees on posts about batch two.

It's the thrill of the chase fever, some people are always looking for the next thing, they get it, have a short thrill at having got it and immediately feel a need for another object.

 

I know this because I got caught in it with secondhand buying, I'd identify a loco or unit I wanted, then would be looking for the best price and strike, the thing would arrive, I'd be very pleased with myself and then feel flat at which point I would begin chasing another loco/unit to purchase.

 

The thrill of the chase is a dopamine and adrenaline hit, so once you have the object of desire it loses it's appeal hence the need for a second object to crave to form a new 'hit' of hormones.

 

Took me a long time to realise this and sort myself out, then followed a period of selling stuff which gave a similar feeling as you rack up the monies from the sales.  Lucikly I used those proceedings to upgrade my remaining fleet of locos to DCC then sound and finally stay alives. 

 

I'm a lot more discipined these days.

You miss the point, this thread is about the second run, not the third. We already have a thread dedicated to wish-listing where, in my opinion, is a better place for discussing things not announced.

Those two can only be done under the approval of the London Transport Museum as they have the rights to the design.
