One of the two boilers in my photo of 99965 is a spare inner firebox for LMR 'Austerity' 2-10-0 'Gordon'. As long I have been taking photos of 99965, it's always been in the wagon. The other one I would say was for a narrow gauge loco but which I cannot say which. @Blandford1969 would you know at all?

Sorry no idea about the boiler. Nice job on the inner!

Can you tell me the axle length please?

Would like to know as it can make converting the gauge to EM easier.

All my other Rapido wagons have standard 26 mm axles and took Gibsons readily.

Watch the bearings when changing wheelsets, though, as I've had a couple of them fall out.

I thought the standard axle length was 26.0mm?!

Correct. My fault for typing when I was still half-asleep!

Duly amended.

Hello, it's 26mm tip to tip.

A plea Corbs, could you please number the sacktruck doored versions in the 94601-50 running number series as O28s? That way, there would be no question about whether that particular O16 had been modified or not.

Hiya Nigel, have you come across many photos of O28s in service? We really struggled. We are pretty much locked in with the current running numbers but it would be useful to have any on file for future runs etc.

If it is useful these ones were photographed with sack truck doors in the livery shown:

964002 - No. 94867 25" G W - b & w photo in train with LMS 5-plank and round-ended SR wagon

964004 - No.99965 - 16" G W - as preserved

964011 - No.W94920 - BR (W) TUBE - b & w photo in goods yard

964012 - No.W94864 - BR Grey - as preserved

The post-36 and post-42 liveries are based on those seen on other similar wagons at the same time.

Hope that helps!
