Some charctoristics of "The Thanet Disease" (which go back to the 70's) are ; The desire to do things on the cheap. The desire to cut corners. To empire build (& to form sub-empires within). Management to spend more time on office politics than "managinf". To promise goods/services will be delivered/supplied and not produce. Be extremely poor at after sales service. To charge as much as possible for what they produce/do. Not all companies suffer from this, there are some excellent companies on the Island. That's not a Thanet Disease. Those characteristics are prevalent wherever you look.
