My first class 66 sound loco was a Bachmann class 66. Loksound v3.5. Very good for the time. Im no expert on v5 chips but with the cold start on some projects it seems that quite long sample times are achievable. The current sound files for especially 66/0 chips seems  very basic not at all capturing the nuances of the very different idling sounds, one in particular having a non stop spirax valve sound that is rarely heard in general. The notch 1 to 8 sound great. Is this just laziness or rushing to get a project out?
