I'm surprised no one has posted this (sadly) rejected Canadian Pacific livery here. Of their rejected liveries they've shared throughout their ranges, I hope this one can make it out of the trash can and be produced. 😁

the number is quite appropriate, though given the direction soldiers travelled perhaps Canadian National (as there wasnt a Canadian Atlantic).

Whilst a very good looking model, it was however 1:87 HO which made it noticeably smaller when placed along side the usual 1:76 OO models.

???? That is what the post I replied to was all about.

Blimey, that's small!  TT120? 😇

Dunno but the width between the rails measures correct for 4ft 8 1/2 for the scale it is.

🙂

not all British outline in HO looks small in Europe, both these models are HO 1/87 .. An Atlas BR class 81 and Piko EU07, which English Electric designed from an BR class 83.

the s160 might be Big Jim, but its smaller than people think, the Americans must have thought they were making toy trains. When you get close you discover its all tender and no boiler.

2x S160 at Jaworzyna Slaska, Poland.

There was another loco here, looked like it had a WD tender body, on an S160 tender chassis, even has UK style tender lamp irons.

and this thing looked to have nicked an s160 tender..

i’ll wager it will out pull the Rapido one, and then some, unless they  pick up some European practices.

🙂

It'll be interesting to put the OO and HO ones next to each other when the time comes.

Hi, will the model of 2253 carry electric lamps as preserved? Thanks Fred

No, we did consider it but decided on plain lamp irons, partly due to this allowing modellers to fit their own lamps, and partly because it could become another expensive rabbit hole as lamp configurations differ so much. For the same reason Omaha doesn't have the steam generator fitted (although this was not present when we did the photo survey).

Slightly off topic but having West Country connections and a love for the area , I found these shots of Brixham in the build up to D-Day very interesting.

The plan is to have a pocket on the tender and a removable tension lock for the front in the accessory bag. Because of the way the front bogie looks (quite see-through), we didn't want to spoil it with a big pocket or clip-on coupling. So the front coupling mounts to the body.

Quick question about the body mounted front coupling/coupling mount in the bag; will it be designed so that it can be used for Kadee and or other similar NEM interface couplings? I don’t use tension locks (I’m a Kadee user) and I dare say others don’t, so just wondering if consideration has been given to that

Tr202-28 is a post-war UNRA development of the S-160 - designed for a larger loading gauge.

Canadian Pacific ran into Saint John NB (and does again now with run-through power agreement with NBM/NBSR) on the east coast. Additionally in Montreal. CP used to have trackage even further east - they acquired the Dominion Atlantic which gave them trackage in Nova Scotia and into the Port of Halifax. They sold those lines in the early 90s though.

I've had various family members in the past back and forth between Canada (pre-great depression, great depression, WWII etc) and they typically went through Saint John, Halifax or Montreal, depending on the season (the Saint Laurence Seaway ices), and in WWII they consolidated passenger vs freight ship traffic on east coast.

The bottom photo looks to be a Tr202 aka Liberation Class 'heavy freight' engine and according to Wiki there is one at that site.  The original design came from Vulcan Foundry and was reputedly based to some extent on the WD 2-8-0 design.  PKP  appear to have made a number of mods to those that that finished up with them (although their S160s were fairly original judging by what I saw of them in Poland in 1975).

Here's a factory photo of one-
