alant
Surprised to pick up a copy of 304 from Bill Hudson's at the Gauge O Guild show at Kempton Park Racecourse today. Editor Paul Karau. Seems like they are coming every other week at the moment! 1 1
RMweb Premium Izzy Posted June 1 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 1 I understand they were available at Railex last weekend from what I have read. Seems rather soon after 303. I wonder if they will be in the shops shortly or will not arrive until a more normal timespan. Bob

RMweb Gold Not Jeremy Posted June 3 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 3 (edited) Now in stock and orderable from Titfieldshire, my take on it is here. A good issue I think, featuring the most spectacular recycling of "things that might come in useful" by Mike Lynch - truly awesome. With Kier Hardy and Karl Crowther each covering recent "diesel developments" in 4mm scale, this is quite an "up to date" issue in some ways. But then again not, of course... I also liked Paul's editorial, another good observation of "what it is all about", for some of us at least, and as an aside I love the thought that (Cyril's) "modern image" modelling is now 50 years old, at least. It's good to be modern.... Bee - barp! Edited June 3 by Not Jeremy added cover image and bee barp 6

Suddaby
Hi Simon, I was surprised to find this on the doormat this morning, as someone says they are arriving with surprising regularity at the moment! Just one point about your review, the Scottish PO wagons are S Scale, not7mm. Looks like another good issue to read. All the best, Kevin

They're very clever these MRJ types. They most likely realised that if they'd chosen to match the bus it would have been rather bold and a little unsettling for some. They undoubtedly would have thought of picking up the cream of the bus. That would have been nice but I think they made the right choice for this month's turquoise. Very Lloyd Loom under the apple tree, best accompanied by a glass of Pimms.

Surely the colour matches the polka dots on the photographer's tie? 2

A touch flamboyant but yes, good point, CK. I seem to recall that Sheldon Fopp has a similar matching cravat and handkerchief set. And whilst we are on the subject, my copy has now been safely delivered by the Memsahib.
RMweb Premium DLT Posted June 9 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 9 On 08/06/2024 at 08:46, Hroth said: Do you think it was chosen to match the colour of the shop front? 🤔 Yes that's it, and nothing to do with company livery. 303 was orange, matching the BR lining on Rotterdam Lloyd, 300 had the red to accentuate the splash of colour of the loco bufferbeam and signals on Chris Pendleton's snow scene. On 302, the green brings out the beautiful leafy Devon landscape on Robert Dudley-Cooks's Torlish village. A brilliant bit of graphic design, and I reckon MRJ's best cover style yet. So whats next? Cheers, Dave.
Wheatley
I was slightly disappointed when the orange one appeared, I was half hoping they'd got in synch with Railway Modeller's rotating red / blue / green theme. Joking...
