My Alice should be here tomorrow or Monday depending on royal mail. My intention is to replace the couplings for Greenwich 009 ones which will make it compatible with the Talyllyn stock that has been built for the project.

What do people think of the price of these wagons?  They are pretty basic for the price and fairly easy to copy in styrene - see my Chirk thread below.  I think each cost me less than $5......

Interesting spelling of Dinorwic on the box. Having worked on the commissioning of the pump storage power station I just had to get this - layout to follow, or so I tell myself.

Interestingly the CEGB were undecided how to spell Dinorwic when they started that project but finally settled on Dinorwig.

Well NGRM doesn't seem to want to attach the Flickr URLs, but at least I can post pictures on here! Being a gremlin with a 3d printer and already producing various magnetic couplings, here's what I've prototyped within a few hours of getting home!

I had notification that my loco crew are arriving.  Well at least they will get here before the loco so they can walk the line to get ample route knowledge.

My Alice arrived this afternoon really nice spare coupling and etched name plates a nice touch. It's just the job for Llreggub Wharf. It half hoped that I might be able to convert it to 0-14 in the future but that doesn't look possable.

Strange you say that, Paul Martin at EDM Models is producing NG7-14 conversions as I type.

Anyone know if the chopper couplings will be available to buy separately?

(for my pie wagons)

The request for chopper couplers to be made available separately was put to Bachmann by many members of the 7mmNGA when they attended Burton and I too have spoken to them about that to which they said they would feed this back. So the more requests they get the more likely it will happen.

My first arrived. Una has been stripped down, and once Alice arrives and undergoes similar treatment will re emerge as 1950s Irish Mail. The awful oversize and toylike  motion is really jarring still. Hornby managed much better on the 4mm Peckett.

Loco crew have been walking the line doing route knowledge since last week.  They have managed to find a driver on a SG HC to have a chat with.

They have been advised that their ride will be with them by the weekend.

Dignity and Impudence

.

Both care of Bachmann.

.

Only 'Alice' cost twice what I paid for the Baldwin.

.

Not that I'm complaining; I have two Hunslets and more will follow.

.

The Baldwin list price was probably about $350.......

.

Mine was a 'return' purchased from Bachmann at a local show -  mint condition, complete with all accessories and DCC onboard - for £80

Oh dear. Postman didn't think much of my Alice.

Oh! That’s suffered some real abuse in the post to shake it free. Hope it easily repaired as the safety valve appears to have snapped rather than just been popped out.

Blimey that's taken a battering. I had one rear hand rail knob detached. It popped back in ok, but I think it was more of a push fit to begin with than glued.

Did the biscuits survive?
