Day one was very good! Seemed quite busy during the times where it chucked it down!

Went today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Favorite layouts were deadmans lane, fenwick tmd and Gordon’s lane. Trade was good although didn’t buy anything and felt it was a little cramped at times and not much space between the aisles. Felt where alderford and Bachmann were was a little off the beaten track and seemed a little lost

Thank you to all the DEMU team for a wonderful day in sunny(!) Sutton Coldfield yesterday. Despite the 4.30am get up, James' last minute detour to get to the venue and the hour sitting still on the M40 (coming home), the drive to see the layouts was enjoyable.

All the layouts were of an exceptionally good quality and I am not going to name individuals but thank you to all who bring their layouts and are prepared to open themselves to public scrutiny. The variety of layouts and traders on show demonstrates to me that, despite the events of the last five years, the hobby is still full of inventive, creative and enthusiastic members who, by coming to shows like DEMU, can inspire us in so many ways.

So thank you again to the DEMU team for this...now to start saving towards next year's pilgrimage to sunny(!) Sutton Coldfield!

Thanks to you all also from me for organising this year's show.  Stayed under budget, which is just as well if I am to afford a Bachmann '09' soon...  So sorry there was no street food stall in the town centre yester-day.  Highlight of the year for me.

Keep up the good work, and if you know of a van/stall selling samosas to take up residence nearby in 2025... 🙂

We only got to see the last hour of the show but great to catch up with lots of friends in that time, and to get a quick look at the layouts.

Huge thanks to Brian for my pulleys!
The Bachmann chap said lots of people had asked for another run of the Freightliner FFA/FGA wagons, thanks all of you.
Nice to see all the purchases I’ve already made (31s, 37s and Cartics) and that new 08 does look the dogs dangly bits.

Well done to all involved in the show, hopefully next year it won’t clash with other engagements and I’ll have more time.

Andi

I visited yesterday, a great show with some quality layouts. I never did get to see the SWR layout, there was always a good few people in front of it. Blueball was excellent and worth the visit alone.

Great weekend at DEMU Showcase. Always a highlight of the exhibition calendar and look forward to the show every year. Huge thanks and “well done” to the organising team for putting a great line up of layouts and traders together,  along with the band of stewards that help everything run smoothly over the weekend.
A good opportunity to catch up with old friends and put faces to names.
great to meet @dj_crisp and talk about all things coaching stock!

Echo all the positive comments and thanks to the organising team too! Helping out as a steward was way more fun than I expected and that was due to everyone else i was with having great chats. As a social exhibition it can't get any better.

A brilliant exhibition catching up, meeting fellow modellers I've not met before and great to chat to you too @billywhizz :) I'm very much on the coaching learning curve.

Already looking forward to next year!

Fantastic event as always! Really enjoyed myself. Would like to see one or two extra trade stands in the future, however that may require a bigger venue!

Sutton Coldfield Town Hall has hosted some very enjoyable shows over the years, once a venue for the European Rail peoples and I remember a super IPMS show long time ago. "Most-Excellent!"

Regards, Gerry.

not sure it was a venue at any time for IMPS!

Thank you.

As this year's liaison between the traders and the rest of the organising team, we could have filled the venue with just the traders I had to decline their request to attend, let alone those who we did invite who couldn't attend for what ever reason. I hope we got a good balance of trade.

Thanks for the photos Gerry.

I was far to busy both days to get to have a good look at the layouts.

Thanks for the invite, I had a very enjoyable weekend demo'ing the potential of Silhouette cutters, and I hope inspired a few people to consider it as an option.

I've been checking them out since speaking to you Jon 😁 might solve a few of my glazing challenges! (And my appalling cutting skills)

Cheers

On behalf of the Deadmans lane team, a thankyou to all the organising team at the DEMU Showcase.

They are too many to name. but I want to give a special mention to Guy Mo @lyneux for his efforts over the years.

Some of the DL team will be back next year with Georgemas Junction!
