I like this one, as it shows quite a bit of the train, hard to achieve from any other angle.

A visit today from KNP, of Little Muddle.fame. He took rather a lots of photos, at least some of which will appear on here in due course. He has a very clever tripod, which allowed him to take photos which I could not do, and with the camera upside down too.

 

Your evening photos show the onward progress of Sir Nigel, who, of course, is not stopping here.

Thank you for a lovely day yesterday Gilbert and I did indeed take over 50 pictures all of which where taken using a technique called Post Focus where a series of pictures are taken focusing from close up to infinity then merged together to give one in focus picture using an editing suite called Serif Affinity.

In this visit I have concentrated on the new houses (to me) in Station Road and then odd areas from odd angles around the layout plus some standard ones!!!

Here is the first

 

 

Rest will follow in due course as I get around to them as it takes a while to edit it them, this particular picture for example was merged using 45 frames focused at different depths.

Natural light was used.

Here is a rarity for a summer Saturday afternoon,  a load of coal on the way to London, and with an 02 at the head too.

 

 

This is from the WTT, so someone must have thought it was OK to interpose  a slow goods in the middle of all these already delayed expresses. I wonder how often it got cancelled.

The goods has gone, so the C12 can now propel the stock for the 4.25 to Harwich into Platform 2.

 

Meanwhile, one of our most run down V2s has finished its journey with the 1.45 slow from KX.

Champion Lodge has backed on, and is waiting for the guard's whistle.

 

The train will go to Harwich, but 61643 only as far as Cambridge, at the most. As it waits, it is passed by Doncaster A1 Patrick Stirling, with the 2.45 KX-Newcastle.

Hmmm. New laptop, wireless keyboard and mouse, lots to reinstall. However, I did get back on here, as you see, found some images, though they took some tracing, and can now show them. 

We have the opposite angle on the A1 and B17....

and 60119 emerging from under the roof, and passing the nice lady, who has seen it many times before. And suddenly, if I make a spelling mistake, I get a red squiggle under the word to alert me. I like that.

Morning all. Getting to know new laptop and Windows 11, but yesterday evening I did manage to photoshop one more image, a complicated one too. Then I hit a wrong key and it went back to raw state, and I couldn't face doing it all again. So, only one image this morning, but you do have KNP's to look at as well, and his are better than mine.

From up on the bridge, we see 61643 pulling away with the Harwich.

Which leaves the Up clear for a very shiny Top Shed A1 to come through with the 1.25 Hull-KX.

Don't know why, but I was made to post this morning's images again. I usually get "your content has been restored", and a choice whether to post or cancel, but not this time. Anyway, ignore that please, and follow 60897 as it heads towards the gloom ahead....

Certainly been enjoying KNP's pics along with your own Gilbert, it just shows how photogenic the whole of PN is now.  Those views along Station Road in particular are striking!

 

As for A3s and double chimneys, as much as they revitalised them in their waning years, I much prefer the A3s in single chimney guise, with a proper GN tender.  It just looks all properly balanced.

I don't think a V2 in this sort of condition would have got much attention in 1958 now, but I know they do in 2014, so here it is again.

Next on the Up is the Northumbrian, with Mallard on duty. As it comes in, it passes the DMU, on its way back to Grantham.

For some reason, Paint.Net seems to be more precise on the new laptop. I hope that continues. 60022 is next seen through the arch.

Mallard rumbles through the gloom.

While a man with a camera has got onto the loading bay, and through the gate takes a shot of an elderly couple strolling towards the station. Something really should be done about that garden. Let's the whole area down, don't you know?
