RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted July 6, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 6, 2023 Cameras concentrate, of course on the glamour of Pullman cars and an immaculate A4. Annual eye check today revealed that I have a developing cataract in my right eye, which may allow me some excuse for wonky lamps and headboards. It is twelve years since the left eye was corrected, so apparently I have done really well to get this far. We don't need to think about an operation yet though. 17

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted July 8, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 8, 2023 The J6 has disappeared into the yards, so another 9F can get going on its way to Ferme Park. Clear signals for the main too. The A5, that lovely GCR loco, the G standing for Great, has been turned on the shed triangle, and is now heading home to Boston. Surely it wasn't turned just because the fireman was too idle to transfer the lamp to the other end?

Next best livery on a cute(?) pannier, the bestest is that nice dark read with Routemaster transfers. 2 3

RMweb Premium 30368 Posted July 9, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 9, 2023 The A2/1 look good Gilbert, but not as good as a V2 on which it is based. I have two A2/1 kits to build a PDK and a Nu-Cast. The latter with its original cast chassis, a very old motor and Romford wheels. I recall that Mr Wright advises replacing the cast chassis. He is probably correct but I thought I might give it a go. It did not cost much. Kind regards, Richard B 2

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted July 9, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 9, 2023 Peter Leyland here, and with surprise goodies. I did not expect these to have been finished yet, or even started really. For years the DE building area had been missing something. Yes folks, that strange bufferstop. Well, it isn't any more. This is rather hasty, and things aren't bedded in properly yet, but I couldn't resist having a go. As close as we shall get, I think. 27

I had some which literally were fit only for the bin, you would never get a running loco out of them, let alone a sweet running one.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted July 9, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 9, 2023 This has been a very good day. The right result at Headingley, and surprise goodies from Peter. I wasn't expecting either. The second one will be photographed and revealed tomorrow, but for now here is the Duke having a three minute rest. This next one is really a plonk, I just felt that the stock in Platform 2 tied it in nicely. There have also been subtle changes on Platform 6, but they too must wait till tomorrow.
