RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 17, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 17, 2023 Still up in the air, avoiding pigeons, and observing an Ivatt in the bay with the stock for the 8.30 to Melton Constable. This started as a much wider view, but, fortunately before I started work on it, I spotted my phone lying in the shed area, and the need for a good crop. Banking around to the East, Woolwinder with the 5.10 Leeds-KX comes into view.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 18, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 18, 2023 A sad story this morning. The next train was the last East-Leicester local of the day, and the rostered loco was my Stanier tank. I decided that it would not have been turned, that's what tank engines are all about really, isn't it, so it ran bunker first and I took this nice picture of it at Platform 6. and a reverse angle too. After a while it left, and I took another picture, which you will see this evening, and I liked that one too. As usual, it wasn't till I came to shopping them that I noticed something was missing.😢 17 1

First two coaches appear to be carmine and cream, third one I think is as well, but all in shadow so I could not be certain. First coach is a brake first/second/composite, and appears to be LNER type, but my knowledge of LNER coaches is non-existent. Others are too much in shadow to even say that much. Train is at Platform 4, photo taken from platform 5/6. Carmine and cream coach in background. Perhaps someone else who has the mag. can identify the coaches in more detail. RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 18, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 18, 2023 Woolwinder waits at Platform 2. and a lampless loco leaves Platform 6. Well there is a lamp, but not where it should be. Looking forward to a productive day with Peter Leyland tomorrow, when i'm hoping for a lot of progress. 29
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 19, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 19, 2023 The 5.48 from Broad Street makes its way towards Platform 3. followed a few minutes later by the evening parcels from East, B17 hauled this time, and resting at number 6. I shall now try to get three or four miles walking done before Peter arrives.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 20, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 20, 2023 The first updated Station Road pictures. The left hand side building, the one still extant, is now about finished, as it has grass and trees, plus properly finished and weathered paths. not that you can see much of that from this angle. a bit more greenery further along too. The next one was deemed fit for a bit of photoshopping. A few flowers have grown rather quickly, posh chap at the end has his hedge and lawn, and problems may be brewing among the residents of the terrace, as the frst two along seem to have no interest at all in gardening, or even minimal maintenance. More to come. 33 6
