RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 12, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 12, 2023 On goes Andrew K, and now passes the B12, which can't reverse its stock down to the carriage sidings until the A4 and train are out of the way. and as it carries on, the D16 comes into shot as well. But, for the time being this is as far as the goods gets, as it has to cross the main to get into Westwood Yard, and on the main, there is something approaching.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 13, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 13, 2023 And here is the approaching something, Mons Meg with the 1010 Edinburgh-KX, which it will have taken over somewhere further north, perhaps even as far as Newcastle. A sandwich between A4 and D16 seemed irresistible. and another shot taken just a little further on.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 13, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 13, 2023 More of Mons Meg, from up on the bridge... and the very familiar view from over by the Midland sidings. These shots with artificial light look cold even when I boost the colour, but if I go even a little further it becomes too much.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 14, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 14, 2023 Hands up those who remember the awful B pictures that preceded the main event at the pictures back in the good old days. "It came from Outer Space!", and best, or worst, of all "The Blob". "Discussions" with the girl friend of the day on the back row were vastly preferable. Some of them had sequels... The return of.....whatever it was. All of which is to announce on this cold grey morning...........The Return of the Plonks. 32 3

Some real gems although sadly I can't remember much about them except one called "The Tingler" - does that ring any bells (sorry) for anyone? Fear became incarnate and crawled around looking for a human spine to inhabit.... I do though remember all the original St Trinians films.... I think these wide views are really good. Of course the new houses on the road and the left bridge extension finish it off nicely. Andrew 6

Our new record was 40.3, about 30 miles from here, but it isn't that long ago that 27c was very unusual. 1

Could anyone not like C12s? If so, one really should feel sorry for them. 4

RMweb Premium New Haven Neil Posted January 15, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 15, 2023 The N5 now, THAT's a pilot...... I love the Claud and B12 too, two of my favourite locos, Triang to blame in my youth for the B12 I fear.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 15, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 15, 2023 The last plonk for the time being, and it had to be one which featured Station Road. There is action around North box, as Silver King meets the D16, which is finally being allowed to bring its stock into Platform 2.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 16, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 16, 2023 The D16 has got just a little further. I really like that one. Then we have two A4s, as Silver King passes Andrew K. Must get on, as Timara is due shortly.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 16, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 16, 2023 An eventful day. Timara duly arrived, bearing goodies, as always, but the first job of the day was to put a new EPROM into my NCE Powerpro, in the hope that might stop the strange things which have been happening. It was installed and.... nothing worked. Phone call to Digitrains in Lincoln, who had supplied it by post. A few questions answered by Timara got the advice that it was a dud. Put the old one back in, and found that all my route setting macros had been wiped, which should not have happened. Digitrains had one more in stock, so Timara suggested, sensibly, that rather than reprogramme everything into the old one, only to have to do it all again when the new one arrived, I should go to Lincoln to pick it up. This I did, quite quickly, it must be said. Picked up new one, and returned, even more quickly. The car hadn't experienced anything like it for years. The only suggestion that came up was that Royal mail may have scanned it, thus scrambling it beyond use. It was installed, and worked, thank goodness, so I spent time, later helped by Timara, doing some reprogramming, a very tedious task, and it isn't finished yet. As a result, I wasn't able to photograph the goodies, which will have to wait till tomorrow. When my stress levels came down a bit, it occurred to me that I was fortunate that I only had a 70 mile round trip to put things right. Calmed down somewhat now, and got some food down, having missed lunch, so here is a photo to look upon, before I head for my bed. It is days like this that make me realise that I really am as old as my birth certificate claims. 17 1
RMweb Gold trw1089 Posted January 16, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 16, 2023 Hope the NCE issues settle down Gilbert, I'll be interested to hear how you get on. I put a new chip in mine a couple of years ago so I could upgrade it to work with JMRI plus some additional detection capabilities, thankfully all uneventful. Love the pic of the two A4s, but I must ask, can we have a B17 sometime soon😉 Cheers Tony
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted January 17, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 17, 2023 A quick photo before I get on with the route setting, as I can't run things properly till I finish that.
RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted January 17, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 17, 2023 Well that was a bit of a faff and at least it weren't thick snow I suppose. On the bright side it is worth noting about Digitrains suggesting that Scanning 'possibility' thing. They at least could send stuff in an anti scan pack. Worth announcing the 'possibility' elsewhere G? Spread the word of the 'possibility'. I keep saying 'possibility' as there are some on certain parts of RMW that will deny any such thing can ever occur and you are wrong and that DCC is the Spawn of Belezebub etc. My Power Cab continues to potter on, but as you may remember I have Analogue and Digitalis Fingerpokin Route Setting (apart from those Froggy Things at Fiddle Yard X Overs etc.) Have a good day and thanks for the update. Hope Timara a was OK and that you complete your reprogramming successfully. P 2

There is only one more train that might bring one, the Colchester-Glasgow right at the end of the sequence, and even that might have a B2.
