RMweb Premium great northern Posted September 29, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 29, 2022 But the cursor is playing up again, and wouldn't let me finish. We have two locals coming in, one from March, and the other from Grimsby.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted September 30, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 30, 2022 Still on high, the Grimsby local has terminated. I couldn't make up my mind whether it was better cropped or full size, so you get both, and can make your own decsion.

RMweb Premium great northern Posted September 30, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted September 30, 2022 Divided opinions, it would seem. Just what I expected really. We all have our own preferences.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted September 30, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 30, 2022 The B1 has taken its empty stock to the carriage sidings, which allows a trip working to head down to South yard. The B17 though is still waiting to remove its stock.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted October 1, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 1, 2022 We don't see a J50 very often. New England only had three, and they were very camera shy, in fact I've only seen one or two images of them on shed. I'm sure they did get a run out occasionally though, and this trip working is the kind of thing I reckon they may have been employed on.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted October 1, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 1, 2022 The B17 is still waiting, so we can have a rear three quarter view. Lovely from any angle, of course. Approaching from the North is a service from Gainsborough Lea road to Kings Cross. Why it should start from there I cannot think. Doncaster A3 Tagalie will have had a light engine trip from home to pick it up.
RMweb Gold trw1089 Posted October 2, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 2, 2022 Hope all is well Gilbert, loving the recent additions to the motive power roster and the different shots by KNP and yourself. The plonks are still some of my favourites too. Been playing catch up again as I've been a bit busy with work, but finishing off my catch up with that lovely shot of the B17 above is very nice! RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted October 2, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 2, 2022 Two more views of Tagalie this morning. First a very familiar one. Then one of those "I wonder what this might look like" moments. Spoilt by the abruptly ending bridge, I think. I'm still pondering whether anything can be done about that. It would have to be removable. 29
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted October 2, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 2, 2022 I think cropping the left side, eliminating the tail-end of the road vehicle, might centre the pic better, emphasising Tagalie. The bridge is an important landmark at PN, even today. It deserves to be there.

If I may offer some constructive criticism, I think the vans it’s pulling could do with a trip to Tim! 1

The far end would have to sit on the window sill though, and that is considerably lower than the baseboard. It would have to be removeable, as I need to get past there into the corner, and it would be too low for me to duck under. I'm doing quite enough of that already. 1

When I was young enough to have the patience to do such things I mixed up several different shades of bauxite, and did about twenty wagons. Some of the differences were subtle, so I didn't fancy covering them over! The other thing is that the first image looks worse because I overdid the colour tone and saturation. They look far more muted on the second one, I hope.

The rake is fascinating. No catering facilities is interesting to view. Is that a 1958 specific consist? It's a shame that Bachmann have not done Maroon Thompsons. I restorted to building a dozen plus the Elizabethan.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted October 4, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 4, 2022 Melton resting at the south end of Platform 2, soon to be on its way home. Then at last more movement to the north, as the Hertford North -Scarborough slows for its stop. I'm not sure how the cameraman got to take this, as even if he has someone watching his back it looks rather dangerous. Perhaps he has a very special permit. Actually, it isnt as bad as it looks. Quite a lot of my camera was straddling both lines when I set this up, so a 4mm scale human would I think have been able to get it from the comparative safety of the right hand side, provided he then stepped back quickly.
