RMweb Premium TrevorP1 Posted February 4, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 4, 2021 Pre group coaches? Ooh er! Limits of what little knowledge I may have. But... There is a LNWR 12 wheel diner from the Royal train in the collection at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. I’m going to plump for that.
RMweb Gold Market65 Posted February 4, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 4, 2021 Well, for this poll, I’m going with the lovely North Eastern Railway clerestory carriages. All so well proportioned with excellent attention to the panelling. I’ve built many models of those carriages. A David Bain design. Rob.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 4, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 4, 2021 Light is precious at this time of year, so I have to take more photos of each train to make the most of it, rather than spend time setting up future services. For that reason, you get a third look at Persimmon, though it could be argued that one can't have too many looks at an A3.
robmcg
What a superb photo! And just when I was beginning to think Thompson's A2s were looking rather good.... a dose of proper engine design is just what was needed. 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 5, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 5, 2021 This bright fine morning we shall look at the formation of the 9.47 Newcastle, as it was on Wednesdays and Fridays. On other days it was completely different. A really nice mixture. Gresley BSK , three MK1s, FO/RK catering, rare by this time, a couple of Thompsons, and a variety of end vestibule SKs, with a Thompson brake bringing up the rear. Really easy to put together with my new system of stock assembly, and the excellent Hunt couplings throughout.
RMweb Premium thegreenhowards Posted February 5, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 5, 2021 The 0947 Newcastle was one of the more interesting trains of the day. Great to see the full formation.
RMweb Premium great northern Posted February 5, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted February 5, 2021 Close thing on the poll, and very much along tribal lines as usual. GWR Dreadnoughts and Midland Clerestories got 4 votes each, but were just beaten by ECJS clerestories with 5. Best pre grouping non corridor stock today.
