Most of them are about twelve years old too. Time for a local from Grimsby, a job for a run down Immingham B1. This train left Grimsby at 5.49am, and stopped almost everywhere on its way to PN, save for three halts. Three hours later it staggered in, as seen here. Fifteen minutes later, in comes the Grimsby- KX, which left an hour later, only stopped six times, and nearly caught up with it. Should our eminent denizen of Saltfleetby wish to take a virtual journey back to 1958, he would first have had to get to Theddlethorpe to catch the loop line train to Willoughby, as it didn't stop at his station. Assuming he couldn't afford a car back then, its a two mile walk to be at Theddlethorpe by 6.59am. Get off at Willoughby, and six minutes later the express should arrive, and whisk him to London by 1035. More like 4 miles from where I am, and the Friday bus doesn't arrive until 1.59 pm. I am two miles form Saltfleetby station despite being on the same road.

No point in going to anywhere on the old E.Lincs or the Mablethorpe loop now, as there is nothing left in most places. In 1958 a slim fit and hirsute Clive would have leapt on his bike, and covered those four miles in no time at all.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted August 23, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted August 23, 2019 More of 61130 this morning. I'm still trying to find a way of preventing whatever colour backscene I use turning out grey when I take photos, so there are plenty of these head on views. A lot of cropping here to remove bits which I found impossible to shop, but the area at back left is still pretty rough. We move on to the B1 at rest and waiting for the off. This rake lives in cassettes, but I have realised that six out of the ten coach formation are SKs, and I'm short of loose ones, so there may have to be changes, when I've worked out how to do it. Past Captains trophy to play for this afternoon, followed by a dinner, and no doubt some p*ssed Captains making their way home. 20 1

Only Mablethorpe station has gone, the others are all now dwellings. Most the crossing keepers cottages are still standing, except the one where Pam and Paul live, that burnt down in the 1960s. We nearly bought the one at Saltfleetby All Saints. 1

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted August 23, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted August 23, 2019 Golf summary. Hit a bad shot, pulled something in my right arm, had to stop. Swollen up nicely, so I suspect no more golfing for a while. Don't mind, as I am totally disenchanted with the stupid game. Let's cheer ourselves up with another A4. Seagull appears with the Fair Maid. That backscene isn't good enough, but the book which was kindly recommended has arrived, so I can look for inspiration tomorrow. Meanwhile, a clean KX A4 demands a side on close up. 17

Unlike a lot of other lines even looking at things like goggle satellite it is hard to trace, because it has been sold off to the local farmers who have been able to incorporate it into the fields as it is so flat here. In other places even the slightest undulation will result in a small cutting of embankment so is left alone by the farmers.

I've had to buy quite a lot of new stuff recently as well, and I'd make a thumping loss if I tried to sell those at present. Anyway, I don't need any more locos, and, as all of you well know my ability to resist temptation is legendary, most of the time. Well, quite often anyway. 4

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted August 24, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted August 24, 2019 A last look at Seagull before she disappears into the gloom, and away to the north. but don't be sad, as there will be another A4 to look at in a short while. Dominion of Canada with the Up Nottingham. Bit moth eaten, this one.

Because I'm upside down here in Western Australia, when I open the photo, the tweezers just fall off... (the trains are heavier so the stay on, apparently) Alan is correct - it's the clone tool in photoshop: It's not hard to use, but does need practice to look good, so I'll find a decent video tutorial add it here, but for me, the trick is where you select the point to start cloning. In your case, I made sure the cross-hair of the select point was on the line between the platform and the sky. Then when I cloned, I started on the same line, but where the tweezers were. I'm sure that sounds confusing, and would be a 5 min exercise if I was sat behind you at your computer, but you have mastered filling in around your gantries, so I am sure it's not beyond your capabilities! This one does go through it a bit fast for a newbie, but it covers the things I look for, so may encourage you to have a go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mn38uUT7E0 Cheers Scott Edited August 25, 2019 by jukebox typos 1 3
