We purchased this fantastic layout and want to run the trains using block sections and route setting. James at DCC Train Automation plus David and the McKinley Team plus Iain (we met them all at the recent Southampton Show) have been a great help. We have just purchased Roco Z21 plus some mp1 point motors and a Yamorc YD8116 switch decoder and Yamorc YD6016 sensor. We are going to set up a short section of track with a couple of 4 aspect signals and learn the system. We too are on a steep learning curve!
RMweb Gold Donw Posted February 20 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 20 Cable being too heavy may mean you have spent more than you need but 2.5 is not that heavy and will be fine for the bus wires. I would advise using lighter wire for the droppers. Wire on the small size can be an issue wire being a bit larger shouldn't be an issue. RMweb Premium E100 Posted February 29 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 29 Spoke with DCC Train Automation at Model Rail Scotland. They basically said Yamorc is perfect for smaller/medium layouts with Lodi ideal for medium/larger layouts, especially those looking to utilise railcom which can swamp the other bus systems.
