RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted December 8, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 8, 2023 Close cousin of the Class 306, this is now on the workbench. The Lima DMU bogies and pizza cutter wheels that came in the box won't be being used - and neither will the truly awful MTK motor bogie. If anyone wants them do send me a PM. Cheers Darius
37114
I am amazed both by the speed of your builds, the quality of the finished product but mostly by your resilience in building MTK kits! 1

RMweb Gold Popular Post Darius43 Posted December 9, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted December 9, 2023 Made a start on the DMBSO coach body today. Aluminium body roof cut away and replaced with a scratch built plasticard roof. The cars driver and guard compartment doors were a bit coarse so I replaced them with scratch built laminated plasticard doors. This also gave something other than aluminium for the white metal cab front to be bonded to. Cheers Darius 20 4
BernardTPM
I think both these and the Shenfield units were all but identical when first built, save that a section of these had First Class seating. 2

Halvarras
Astonishingly swift and neat work once again Darius! I was having a laugh when I challenged you to get it done by Christmas, I mean, after all it's an MTK kit.......but I'm not laughing now 😲!! Seriously, this and your other recent builds must be the most rapidly-constructed MTK kits in the history of MTK kits - even with scratchbuilt chassis and interiors, and they don't even look rushed. I've built the Class 119 DMU kit so I know what a challenge they are, my assembly was measured in months not weeks (in fairness to meself I was only 22 at the time!) Only stumbling across a Class 103 kit would entice me to have another go now though....... Respect!! 👍 1
