Boldon Boy
Does anyone know the extent of the range of pressed card coach sides and ends marketed under this name soon after WW2? The only ones I remember were a NER 6-wheel passenger brake and a LSWR 6-wheel coach, but there may have been others. I recall making up one of them badly (I hadn't discovered the used of shellac/knotting to stiffen card), but National Service called and it failed to survive. A picture of a survivor would be interesting!
Michael Hodgson
Not heard of these. What scale ?
roythebus1
I may have a couple of these kits in my late friend's collection, they appear to be papier mache with pressed beading. They seem to be 4 or 6 wheel coaches. He modelled the GN as well...
Boldon Boy
The card parts I had were 4mm/ft.
dunwurken
P D Hancock made use of some of these embossed card coach sides. The first Craig and Mertonford coach was built using Great North of Scotland coach side - see copy extract below Extract from C&MR Coaches research by Malcolm MacLeod, on Flickr Amongst the various spares that were inherited by the Edinburgh & Lothians MRC's PDH Collection were a number of coach sides and instructions for three coaches IMG_3479 by Malcolm MacLeod, on Flickr IMG_3486 by Malcolm MacLeod, on Flickr IMG_3485 by Malcolm MacLeod, on Flickr IMG_3483 by Malcolm MacLeod, on Flickr Regretably none of the Hanson coach[es] have survived and I have no additional information on Hanson's range. roythebus1
Yes, those are remarkably like the ones I've got, i think there's ends with the sides and maybe wooden floors.
