RMweb Premium polybear Posted November 28, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 28, 2023 Hello, I'm trying to find a copy of a reasonable track plan for the layout "Maindee East"; it featured in BRM 2005 Issue 5 (I think) but I'm missing that copy and the RMWeb BRM Archive doesn't go back that far unfortunately. Whilst it featured in MRJ there was no track plan; I've also tried S4News without success. Can anyone help please? Many thanks Kind Regards Brian
Miss Prism
I can't recall ever seeing a trackplan. I took only one pic, and I wish I had taken more: 5
ISW
1 hour ago, polybear said: the layout "Maindee East"; it featured in BRM 2005 Issue 5 (I think) According to BRM April 2023, page 79, it was the November 2005 issue of BRM. Here are a couple of other photos I found of the layout: Ian 7
RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted November 28, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 28, 2023 Loads of photos here: https://www.scalefour.org/layouts/exhibmaindee.html No plan but it should be possible to work it out from these. 1

RMweb Premium JZ Posted November 29, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 29, 2023 That should be better. Had the pleasure of seeing this close up at one of Chris Challis' evening at his shop in Shepton Mallett. Impressive modelling. 1
RMweb Premium polybear Posted November 29, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 29, 2023 Many thanks; it does still exist - a fellow RMWebber saved it from an Auction House in a fairly sorry state after it's creator (Steffan Lewis IIRC) very sadly died; it's in need of TLC though. A search on RMWeb will soon find the thread, though there hasn't been a recent update.
Pprd1964
I helped Steffan operate this a few times - I felt quite honoured to be asked. One of those was at Scaleforum though I can't remember which year it was at the moment. I think you have the plan and enough pictures to work it out now, but I have more if you'd like them. I remember that the turntable only aligned properly one way, so you couldn't turn an engine. It was just used as a sector plate. Dave
