RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted September 27, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 27, 2023 Looking forward to bringing Ewe to Uckfield. Feeling very privileged to be part of what looks like a fantastic show. One or two minor tweaks planned but nothing earth shattering. This view won't be possible over the week end as the 'roof' will be on but I hope it hints at what Ewe brings to the show.

RMweb Gold adrianmc Posted October 2, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 2, 2023 Unfortunately the Uckfield College MRC's layout Ettington Verso is not going to be ready for the show, so they are going to be bringing College Halt instead. Following a photoshoot by Phil Parker back in May, an eight page article on the layout features in the latest issue of BRM (November 2023). OP updated.
RMweb Gold adrianmc Posted October 8, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 8, 2023 Just been asked by bcnPete to update the Wenford Dries entry in the OP with its correct gauge. It is actually 31.5mm (finescale 0) so as to improve the appearance and running whilst still using ready-to-run stock. Just checked the Exhibition Guide proof copy and it's correctly listed there - phew! Talking of the Guide, it's grown to 40 pages this year and has a track-plan and photograph for every one of the twenty layouts - only a £1 on the door. 6

RMweb Gold queensquare Posted October 11, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 11, 2023 Trerice lives! A few dry joints, a new section switch, new controller socket, plus, most importantly, new bog chain to support the fiddle yard (no you’ve not misread that!), and we’re in business. Locos run over the entire layout, through the big dipper across the front and out onto the cassettes. Hoorah!! As well as Trerice, we will also have a small display of some of the stock from Iain Rice’s seminal Tregarrick and the North Cornwall Minerals, the East Suffolk Light and other Rice ephemera. MartinM
Don't forget that this is on this weekend there is free parking in the main station car park on Saturday and Sunday, The cameras will be turned off. There is a stunning selection of layouts and I would suggest, if you can, to come on the Sunday as it is less busier? See you there Martin Marrison UMRC

See you there Martin Marrison UMRC I will be coming Sunday as I'm exhibiting elsewhere on Saturday. Re-car park. Is there anywhere in officialdom that this is recorded and confirmed? No slight on you or the club but I've had bad experiences with money grabbing, bullying, station parking contractors previously and have no wish to repeat the experience! Network Rail and APCOA have been very supportive of events in Uckfield where substantial numbers of visitors are expected. The relevant contacts were provided by Uckfield Town Council who are also very supportive of the exhibition, hosting the event in the Uckfield Civic Centre. See below a map of the centre of Uckfield and the relative locations of the Railway Station car park - and of course the Station - and the Civic Centre.
