RMweb Gold InTheTrainShed Posted September 1, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 1, 2023 (edited) I have some old decoders I want to test and one is a 6 pin type - I know where Pin 1 is on the decoder but the ESU tester is not marked to show me where pin 1 is on the socket on the board ??? Confused now Edited September 1, 2023 by InTheTrainShed
Nigelcliffe
It is marked, but it's subtle.... "Yellow" refers to pin 6. And the "*" appears to be pointing to pin 1, even though its also on the 8-pin socket. - Nigel
RMweb Gold InTheTrainShed Posted September 1, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 1, 2023 I did wonder about the yellow being the other end to pin 1 - but i thought it might be cheaper to ask first :-) Thanks

Just things don't work as expected - some of the lights may come on if you asked for a motor speed, nothing else.
RMweb Premium Steven B Posted September 4, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 4, 2023 Pin 1's also closest to the "1" in NEM651. This and Nigel's * method apply to the older pre-Next18 version of the ESU decoder tester. Steven B
