hmrspaul
These Lowmacs are becoming available. Here is Rapido 920907 as DB904525 ZXQ AC ZXQ Compare with the wagon in conservation at the MRC, Swanwick https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/brlowmacep/e5e467eb0 and more detail photos alongside. Paul PS as a largely 7mm modeller I am envious of the wheels as a load. The club layout will need lots of wagon wheels lying about the works and I'm not aware of anything similar being available at the moment. I don't want them palletised as that isn't very prototypical - well not until recently. Edited September 7 by hmrspaul 3 2

Alas the plate is just in the way...... Edited September 7 by Halvarras

Halvarras
3 hours ago, hmrspaul said: Did you look at the photo of the prototype? Paul Yes, you did invite comparison between real and model, and yes I agree the writing and all printing is correct - the TOPS code is in the right place but the plate which is missing on the prototype is still there on the model - in the way. However it's just an observation, I do realise that it's not always cost-effective to remove such small moulded details to cater for a single variant (NB I haven't checked them all so it may not be single).

We have a set of photos of the vehicle that showed (at least on that day or period of time) that it was only on one side of the vehicle. 6

Well done to Rapido for finding photos of both sides and reproducing them differently. Here is your elephant. Paul - and sorry but they are MO not MQ. May be correct on this side, but is wrong on the other. 2

RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted Friday at 18:41 RMweb Gold Share Posted Friday at 18:41 Prototype couplings on these seem to be inconclusive judging by photos with screw, three link and what looks like an instanter in use on them. Was there a general rule ?
RMweb Gold Dunsignalling Posted Friday at 19:17 RMweb Gold Share Posted Friday at 19:17 Wow. what a superb model, and the cast metal floor insert is a stroke of genius to get enough weight into it. Thinking cap currently on as my usual MO for fitting Whisker Kadees won't work and it hasn't got NEM pockets. Looks like a candidate for a modified #20 with a strategically placed hole it it.... Growling Posted Friday at 21:16 Share Posted Friday at 21:16 Excuse my ignorance on this but which of the models if any might be suitable for 1990? Would they have run in a departmental rake around that time? Some of the retailers suggest the Olive ones are era 8 but others suggest just era 6 and 7. Thanks in advance.

BR CE yellow is what would have been running around in 1990. Rails of Sheffield have sold out of the yellow. Also looks like my local model shop have too, having not even got as far as their web site. Managed to find another shop online with one available, which I’ve ordered. Looking forward to its arrival. Max Legroom Posted Sunday at 15:39 Share Posted Sunday at 15:39 Very impressive model. Has anyone managed to remove the tension lock coupler? I can’t see how to do it without cutting it off at the flexible mount. 1
