Yes, I see that now I look closer. However this is what I received in the email from Hattons about that wagons: Hence why I thought one was an EWS one. I did think it looked like a SATLINK vehicle. Very distinctive livery.

MarkSG
Well, well. I go away on holiday for the weekend, and come back to an announcement of this. Makes being back in the office almost bearable. I'll definitely be ordering one of these.

RMweb Premium Mol_PMB Posted February 9 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 9 With a suitable adaptor frame, a 20' ISO container is a prototypical load. This thread contains a list of wagons converted and a few photos (though some were lost in the data crash): Here are a couple on Manchester Docks loaded with Manchester Liners containers: And a better view of the supporting frame: See also Paul Bartlett's galleries for alternative loads: https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/brlowmacep https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/lnerlowmac

RMweb Gold Gilbert Posted February 10 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 10 My take on the couplers from the pictures is that they are not the usual NEM pocket and won't take Kadee plug-ins (17-20 range). Is that the case? I do appreciate its a tight spot but would like confirmation. ( I think the 6w brake was similar IIRC) Thanks Chris

Is that the case? I do appreciate its a tight spot but would like confirmation. ( I think the 6w brake was similar IIRC) Thanks Chris The usual NEM 362 pocket slides into the NEM 363 dovetail aperture. That will probably make even a #17 Kadee stick out too far, though. One solution is to superglue the tails of whichever NEM Kadee comes out to your preferred length directly into the fitting. You may wish to reshape the ends slightly to optimise the fit. From the look of it, my "Plan A" will be to unscrew the fitting entirely and substitute a '#141 or #146 Kadee, as with the SECR brake van, though possibly in a #262 draft box on this occasion. Fellow Kadee veterans may prefer a 30-series, which will be my (slightly fiddlier) backstop should "Plan A" prove too bulky. Collectors should note that all three solutions preclude the model being returned to "out of the box" condition. Photos attached of SECR brake mods. Lowmac should be fairly similar. Nothing to stop anyone removing the new built-up mount and fitting a tension-lock, but originality is not restorable. Coupling used is #141 in the #242 draft box it comes with. They are indeed, discussed on another thread with a short wheelbase wagon with restricted space for the coupling mount. https://www.morop.org/images/NEM_register/NEM_E/nem363_en_2018.pdf A perfectly valid NEM solution, seems it's a gap in Kadee's range more than anything else.
