You are asking the wrong people, Ellis is the man to answer that question. But from the website it appears that you could use Paypal Pay in Three.

If you took the trouble to read the T's & C's on the website you would understand that you do not have to pay unless or until the product is in stock.

 

If you want to explore the possibility of making payments in advance then my suggestion still holds - speak to Ellis.

These were on display at the Milton Keynes show today, beautiful models. I can just about justify a set to run behind a class 31.

I saw these on the stand yesterday and they look stunning, particularly the internal detail with pictures over the seats.  Sadly, the teak samples were still en-route but the lady designer explained that the teak finishes were taken from photographs from photographs of actual coaches and that the number of iterations to get the finishes correct ran into double figures.

 

Modellers of the southern end of the GN main line are fortunate that such high quality models as these and the Hornby Coronation coaches will soon be available.  My only concerns are that both are articulated prototypes, preventing sales of individual coaches, and that their spheres of operations were rather limited, factors which could inhibit sales volumes.

 

Please can we look forward to models of LNER corridor coaches to the same standards?

Those two need adding up. If people buy the quads, Ellis - and others - will feel encouraged to consider more LNER/GN products. Good consumers enable their own continuing market-place.

So if somebody does do more GNR products, we can expect to see a few more models of Kings Cross, Newark etc and then there will be a business case for models of the prototypeas that still haven't been done?

It seems likely to work like that. While monitoring layout prototype trends is rather imprecise, manufacturers surely keep an eye on what is selling well - apart from their own products - and more importantly, what is being discounted/remaindered. It is bound to inform their strategic thinking about what to contemplate next. Only the long lead-times for research, design and procurement of resources in China stop them from reacting more quickly.

Hello everyone

 

Following on from the discussions above...

 

I saw the Quad Arts at the show on Sunday and had a good chat with the designer. My order for Set No.85 was placed almost before they were announced!

 

The articulation will be a key factor in the success of the product. Let's hope it turns out as good as it looks - and that should encourage sales and therefore (hopefully) GE Section Quad Arts and Quint Arts.

 

And that might lead to other articulated stock.🙂

 

Within The Results of The 00 Wishlist Poll, the GN and GE Quad Arts have run neck and neck since 2013, with the GE Quint Arts not far behind. In 2022, the last Poll to run before we run again near Christmas this year, their votes in The Poll were as below (all being in the High Polling segment).

 

135 - GN Quad Arts

121 - GE Quad Arts

118 - GE Quint Arts

 

The GE Quads and Quints already have the N2, J15 and L1 ready to haul them - with J67/68/69 following soon.

Heres a couple from yesterday..

 

 

 

I have an Ian Kirk kit from many years ago, the issue I had with my set, was the nature of the closeness of the body ends on the articulated bogies… whilst you can space out the gap, ultimately the edges of the body sides will meet.. so i’m keen to see how they resolve this on sharper curves, or what the minimum radius will be..

 

The other issue I had was wheels meeting the body step footboards on curves, but an extra washer under the body saw that off.
