RBC
Can anyone advise if the latest Bachmann Class 24035 tooling is any different from the Model Zone Ltd Edition model a few years back of RDB 968007, both shown as 21 pin DCC. A couple of retailers advertise 24035 as a new tooling loco, apart from weathering and number is there actually any difference between these two. Body/chassis detailing, do both have directional and cab lights etc ?? Edited March 31, 2023 by RBC
giz
Looking at photos online, the Modelzone version is the old tooling, the latest releases are completely different to a much better standard, similar to the 24/1 with headcode box. The old tooling was available with both 8 and 21 pin dcc sockets, I have both and from memory only the 21 pin one has lights.
SRman
Adding to giz's post, have a good look at the shape of the roof over the cab front. The new tooling has a much better curve to it than the old.
