I reckon the problem is that bloke in the 4 foot with the badly drawn arrows of indecision on his hi res vest.

They got it confused with an ancient sun-symbol.

Are you any good at football punditry? I hear there's an opening?

True, but a picture was involved. Facebook and other social media organisations have made embarrassing mistakes when an unusual picture gets incorrectly flagged up as porn or some ####### thing by their algorithms

The chances are usually that the photo depicts people who are not supposed to be there, hence the banning.  I can remember  someone getting 'stick' for photographing the building of a car park on a Sunday. The object of the photograph was a local history project.

Interesting.  In that case the definition of an 'incident' in this case is people being where they are not normally meant to be and presumably 'railway interest' means that the photograph must have a locomotive in it!

So...

... you are posting about and incident banning you for posting about an incident which incidentally isn't and incident and ....

Oh, never mind. Just keep posting your photos here. I like them.

This seems to be the problem with groups - it's all down the admin(s). So you either get over zealous moderation, or nobody stopping spam/porn posts.

Sad thing is, if you find some really horrible stuff, or a totally obvious Scam on FB and report it to FB, rarely does anything ever happen.

It took them about 2 months to tell me that a post I'd reported (somebody comparing a black politician to a monkey) didn't breach their community guidelines. The moderation on a lot of social media like Facebook is a token gesture designed to show politicians that they are 'doing something' and don't need any kind of external intervention.

Whereas, I reported a problem to Google Maps of 2 consecutive roundabouts with errors in their directions (one was the correct instruction was the first exit, but said that I wanted the 4th - it's a 3 exit roundabout, so 1st is the same as 4th or 7th exit)! No response other than they'd received it.

Still the same 2 years later, so I won't waste my time again.

I would regard a banning from FB as a badge of honour (perhaps living on the mean inner-city streets is having an effect), proof of your 'sticking it to The Man', testify, brother, testify!!!

It raises the question, though, is Andy York an algorythm portrayed by an actor on his public appearances?  Answers on a postcard please to:-

Andy York aka 'The Enforcer'

RMWeb

The Internet.

That ought to put me on the naughty step, my comfort zone!

Now THAT really did make me laugh and almost have a 'dampness' issue. Am I allowed to say dampness?

I suspect that ASY often wishes he was an Algo so he could just get on with life instead of dealing with annoying gits like me.

Just so long as you don't say 'moist'.

Actually training an AI to Andy's level of patience would be tricky indeed.  You would certainly have to avoid giving it unrestricted access to the Internet.

It will need programming to be more grumpy with knobbery in the evenings and at weekends/holidays.

I've never been suspended by any Facebook Group before, but I was yesterday. I must be in the RED bracket now; retired extremely dangerous. Is there any way to appeal?

The Railway Photograph Group have suspended me for a week. I contacted the admins and just got a curt reply showing the two "rules" I broke - showing an "incident" and posting something "not of railway relevance".

I've posted this to other groups with no problem and got many "likes". Can't see why they took exception to this image, posted below. Maybe they had a bad day?

Best off out of it, and remove any of your old pictures from their silly little group.

Thanks for all the comments guys; much appreciated.

Hope they don't mix PECO code 100 and code 75...

A really interesting detail-rich photo which could inform a cameo model. You could start a thread of rail infrastructure work photos, taken from safe or approved locations of course.

Safe OR approved? I'd hope approved locations are safe!

I meant public places such as overbridges, which the first photo seemed to be taken from, as well as approved work locations.
