Johann Marsbar Posted 14 hours ago Author Share Posted 14 hours ago There was still a lot of 234 activity around Berlin at that time, with examples being used on the Polish border-Berlin leg of some International services, including sleepers. This pair were at Ostbahnhof that morning having come off the sleeper from Moscow...... .......a 189 taking it forward from there.............. As well as the RZD stock, there were a couple of Belarus Railways coaches on the rear......... More mundane traffic was the parade of S-Bahn units....... We'd acually purchased a Brandenburg-Berlin Lander ticket for use that day and had worked out a nice circular tour which would include Szczecin - but in the event we were thwarted in that by the delights of (unpublicised) DB engineering works! It turned out to be a bit of a "232/4 day" as these freshly painted examples were seen at Cottbus....... ...and Cottbus was where we discovered the line from there to Guben was shut and we had to board a rail replacement bus. This local Cottbus vehicle was seen at the station whilst we were waiting...... The bus took an eternity to make the trip and on arrival at Guben we found that they hadn't even retimed the onward trains to connect, so we missed one by about 5 mins and had to wait another 55 mins for the next one! That completely messed ip our plans for the day, the only consolation being this, parked at Guben.... 7 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
