I imagine Bachmann will want to sell as many of the Penrhyn liveried "ladies" as possible before releasing the FR versions, primarily because the FR versions will be the most popular items to sell,

We made the FR Ladies at the same time and they came on the same boat as Charles but we kept that bit quiet" As long as it is better than Hornby's MEGA ANNOUNCEMENT at Warley, I think most will be happy?

RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted December 9, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 9, 2022 As we haven't had one for at least a fortnight, Bachmann are probably about to announce yet another retool of the Class 37.... In seriousness though, a new 40 in the light of KR Models recent rather poorly received announcement seems the most likely in a 'we have a brand new all signing and dancing one almost ready to go so they may as well back off before it is too late' kind of way. 1 1

Shedmaster
HI, I'd have a guess at a re-heated 66 being announced on Monday...maybe in an attempt to prevent the Hattons one resurfacing? Cheers, Shed.

RMweb Gold adb968008 Posted December 10, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 10, 2022 (edited) December 29th 1990… Christmas is coming… and the shunters getting stuck Santa sent a Highland 37 to clear out this muck… The 158s came but they werent really keen.. it meant combining single 156/158 carriages to make the tracks clean… Although 156’s had taken over the Far North lines, and 158’s were in their 3rd month on the highland mainline, things had gone very badly wrong… the 158’s had no snowploughs. 156/158 hybrids were assembled and some 156’s moved to bolster Aberdeen services. Resulting in a grab of random locos and stock back… 37419 arrives from Kyle. 37407 had gone the other way. 47550 arrives around 10am, with the heavily delayed Clansman scheduled to arrive 1830 the evening before. The 08 released it and 47550 immediately went to the other end to head south. (47550+37262, Southbound Clansman) approx 3 hours late departing. Although its gone lunch, no sign of the north bound sleepers arriving, indeed with 37262 on the front, the only other loco on IS shed was the 08. (Stuck here overnight apparently, note doors open), a pair of 37/26 combo with ploughs which came to the rescue from Eastfield. Iirc the passengers had been decamped from the 158 to the Clansman on its way north. (1 car each from 156492/158720, with the 156 leading as it had ploughs, although not an ideal photo you can make out the mis-matched body profile of the 158 carriage behind). (The bad quality images taken by a teenager, with an Eastern European camera using out of date slide film that didnt get processed for another 11 years are mine… and the good one below is from someone else on Flickr…) I started a 37262 in 2019, but need the headlight, I swapped the chassis for round buffers using 37275, and a 37142 body with swapped spare noses from a Kernow 37261. Repainted cab windows / converted from 47831 Tamar with swapped fuel tanks). ive not seen many pictures of the 156/158 hybrids in Scotland in 1990 but dont think it was more than a few months over winter, however ut happened again in the North West a year or two later, seen here (not my image / flickr url) Heres hoping for an Inverness 37… or a Scotrail provincial 158 so I can do it properly… But 156 /158 Hybrid… I think I might need to do that myself. You forgot the sign saying Euros and Dollars accepted, and a few guys with wheel barrows full of pounds trying to barter for a loaf of bread. Then there’s the queue of ambulances outside a hospital, a queue of people at the supermarket with a sign saying “no eggs”. Every other building boarded up, for sales signs on each building, with “sale price reduced”, and a repossession van with sheriffs ouside a 3 bed semi, and a family huddled in the cold bus shelter, whilst a father tried to take a last photo of his home, only to have a repo man grab it from his hand. Then theres a bunch of people staring at a count down timer, realising its actually an exchange rate calculator. Meanwhile in the restaurant, flanked by security, is a few suited people exchanging brown envelopes. Abandoned luxury cars, on bricks, deserted streets and advertising signs saying “building a global Britain”. anyone would think this country is poor, reading this on an internet forum that hails luxury goods. 😀 Edited December 10, 2022 by adb968008 1

'CHARD
Getting back on track after the car-driver tropes, did the Blue Team ever deny that there would be a natural spin-off from the Class 69?

TomScrut
It will be interesting to see what it is. Given it is a Christmas announcement I was half expecting it to be Christmas themed, although they do usually leave wagons with "Christmas 2022" etc. to Hornby so I don't know what it would be if it was Christmas themed. The sorta things that probably get bought as unwanted gifts. Hopefully it's not and it's something somebody actually wants.
