Kato "STEAM Up Your Railway Modelling!"

I picked up a hard copy of this booklet at Warley, it offers a good intro to the things to think about when designing a new layout. Whilst it is aimed at N gauge and promoting Kato's mini diorama products it is also aimed at teenagers at school to cover a range of school subjects, "STEAM" being Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths. I picked it up as a useful guide for a non-creative like me to work through a proper design process for projects (not just trains but school type projects) with my 7 year old.

 

 

Covers all sorts of things like perspective, materials, creative design etc. Only place I can find it available over here at the moment is Amazon Kindle at £1.99.

Kato are a full range producer, the scope and diversity of the products they make is very impressive, ditto Tomix (their big rival). Both Kato and Tomix produce some excellent material to inspire people to use their track systems and all the buildings and accessories they offer, some seriously impressive results can be obtained.
