Not a happy picture but still a fond memory in a way - my brother and I had 50 046 from Padd to Plymouth on a damp and dismal day in 1991 and I grabbed a hasty shot as we passed Laira, with 50 010 and 50 047 identifiable on the dump roads...

I believe the location of D448 in the above photo is Forfar.

Several recent photos highlight the sweep back from the middle pillar of the cab windows, which are quite a long way off being a flat plane. I think this accentuates the characteristic droop from some angles.

The original 3D prints look a little flat/straight in ths area or is that just the angle of the photos?

Another tease of 50050 with a headlight which hasn't been announced as yet

maybe D400 blue 1990’s… with the NRN pods.. ?

would go well with 50007, especially if say, Rails offered 50033 in NSE their newly expanded National collection Railway Icons range ? It would be right at home with NSE mk2’s as well.

Just look at that body side rippling effect - exactly how I remember these new at Crewe in 1968-71 and especially when in ex works condition.

There’s a challenge for Accurascale - that rippling is more obvious that some of the riveting around the grilles!

I'm guessing it will be as D400 in later guise .... big seller

How about a weathered offering….with the western region attention to cleanliness…. as demonstrated on many of the interesting photos on this thread.

Accurascale have said many times that they won't do weathering and like to leave it to the modellers

Factory weathering is often derided and if they did a loco weathered you'd get masses of other modellers complaining that they'd have bought it if it wasn't weathered, so best if they offer them unweathered and leave it to the individual

I hope that eventually we get the ‘deltic treatment’ with one of each number (although my wife would disagree!

. I’ve always fancied a model of 50001. From memory I think it was one of the last models Lima brought out, around the time when the real thing was part of ‘operation Collingwood’

50019 in its departmental blue would be other one on my wish list!

In fact thinking of my own 50 wish list top 5 (taking into account that I’ve ordered what’s available ;) I’d say:

50025 large logo (favourite, see profile pic)

50003 revised NSE (last one I saw in service)

50019 departmental blue

50001 br blue

D400 latter day rail tour livery

Superb images all - and Rugd1022 - pleased to see 'Prince' ahead of the 50 at St Austell. Loved D1041 - seemed bomb proof that loco, kept grinding on.

Just love that image.

Also the 50s passing at Totnes with Milks in the trailing siding off the up platform loop.

Brilliant and nostaligic sights and sounds in my minds ear.

Me, I'd have to get 50 044 - always a favourite.

Forget 'Strictly' - "keep posting"

Love this thread.  Thank you all.

Best Regards
