Glad to see you have moved on from suggesting Kaydees, this feels like progress

Scratch below the surface - they’ll be no progress.

I’m sure I saw some 7mm wagons with tension locks on the other day - or perhaps I dreamt it.

Thanks Will.

The layout is going to Scaleforum (High Wycombe) on 21st & 22nd September.  It's nice to be able to return as Scaleforum was the first show I did with the layout in its original format.

The following weekend (28th & 29th) I'll have some of the stock from the layout with me at Stafford exhibition where I'm doing a wagon modelling demo.

Awesome Mark - I’m back in the UK in September and hoping to get along so would be good to see it in the flesh and have a catch up.

Kind regards,

Will

Slowly making progress with the brickwork painting.

Once it's all done, I'll give it another wash to tone down some of the colours.  I've switched to using acrylic paint, which seems to be going quite well.

I wouldn't have the courage to try that paint effect....I would be bricking it!😄 sorry I'll get my coat

Loving the updates

Nice work Mark.

Maybe put a bit of Pink Floyd on…

As I said I'm quite new to using acrylic paint. I gather IPA is recommended for thinning and cleaning up.  Tonight's IPA is Heathen from Northern Monk

I presume you're drinking from the small glass on the left?

Maximum concentration required to make sure which one I'm sipping from and which is for dipping the paint brush

Yes, I can't quite work out why you need a pint glass to clean an 00000 fine paintbrush!

Thanks for all the comments and reactions, they are much appreciated.  No painting done today, instead we had a day out cycling in Wales and popped in at the WLLR for a slice of cake.

I used to go there often when I was a kid, and we drive passed fairly often now, but somehow I think this is the first time I've seen either The Earl or The Countess in steam.

After this brief diversion, brick painting is scheduled to resume tomorrow.

How influential childhood memories are.

You’ll be making the narrow gauge switch next…

Nothing narrow gauge about those cake slices.
