James 1707
Hi, I bought an old Hornby Class 56095 Harworth Colliery. When I opened to add a decoder someone had been there and hacked out the light wires and some of the leds had blown. So I set about fixing and with a bit of trial and error I desired and got the directional lighting to work with DC. So have with the I added a decoder and his F0 for the lights but nothing. Not sure where to go now but ideally does anyone have the wiring diagrams for the board 1621 x009R5 ? Also included some pics. Thanks Jim
Godders
Hi James I happened to be repairing my 56 and came across your article. I drew a circuit diagram, I hope it helps. I would like to know how the buffers are held in position. All 4 of mine have fallen out. Godders
RAF96
At the socket Pin 2 should read Function lights - Yellow and Pin 3 should be coded green and could feed cab lights if fitted (F1). The wire colours to the PCB for the lights as stated (red/red/black) are not much help, especially if the loco wiring has been hacked around. Telling of which is power and which is white and red lights connection at each end would be of more use. Be aware the lighting boards in the body may/may not have resistors, usually these are on the main PCB and depending upon revision state of the PCB and decoder socket type (21/8) it may be wired positive or negative ‘earth’.
