matchmaker
I'm currently making up a rake of 4mm Mk 1 coaches to represent a typical WCR rake. Mk 1 RTR models are in the pipeline from Bachmann (plus Mk 2 from Accurascale) but there is no indication when they will be available, so I'm converting Hornby Mk 1s. The bogies are wrong (should be Commonwealth and the Hornby Commonwealths aren't available as a spare, but I'll get round that) but the main thing I want to sort out the lettering. I've removed the Hornby numbers from a TSO and put on West Coast branding and numbering and it looks OK. I have however a RBR to sort out but any photos I've found of them don't show any with WCR branding. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Accurascale staff McC Posted October 4, 2022 Accurascale staff Share Posted October 4, 2022 The accurascale mk2bs should be here around year end.

WCR only have 2 RBRs and only 1961 is in WCR livery with branding. https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/brmark1/hD285D43A#hd285d43a
matchmaker
Thanks, but 1961 is a RUB Kitchen only. RBR is 1666 and any photos I've seen show it unbranded and with its BR number E1666. I'll have to use modellers licence I think!
Paul.Uni
1666 was owned by Steam Dreams not WCRC. As with the rest of Steam Dreams it is now owned by LSL.

Why not just run it unbranded if that is how it appears in all of the photographs you have?
RMweb Premium Steadfast Posted October 5, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 5, 2022 The other thing is that being Steam Dreams not WCRC owned it has black ends not maroon, so closer to the Hornby BR model. Jo
