richard i
Seems strange they would go to the effort of a white roof and yet leave the cab front black. richard

Once I have done some weathering tests on my earlier j69 I will attempt it on this! It is way too clean right now! 1

woko
I thought I would build a little backdrop board to make photographing my O gauge models a little more interesting, plus I felt like modelling something a little different also! Still very much work in progress, and I have yet to decide what colour ballast to use, if anyone has an ideas I would be grateful? Currently i'm thinking grey, but with some washes to help tone it down a little! Walls are 3d printed on the creality ender 5 plus, and the signal box is based on Crawley, and older model I 3d printed a while back and had kicking about. It still needs finishing, with an interior, glazing and some weathering, but I figured I would incorporate it into the little scene to add a bit of visual interest to the scene! 10

KeithHC
Great job on the signal box. I will have to see if I can revise my 4mm models of Rowfant and Grange road boxes to show a couple of windows in the open position. Keith ps done on a FDM printer windows may well be done in resin.

Those look great Keith, I have to admit i am a sucker for open windows a lot of my coaches all have open top lights, i think it adds some visual interest and detail to the models personally! 2
Popular Post woko
Some weekend work in progress for both the backscene, ballasted the track and been working up this GER full brake for Smithfield! 17
woko
Working up more coaches, and wagons for running at Kempton Park on the first of June! ESMRC is debuting Smithfield, our O gauge surburban Terminus layout build by the club, a mixture of GNR, LBSC, and GER stock will be running from pre-grouping to early grouping so a bit of a mixture! If I had my way it be all Pre-grouping ;) Great Eastern 6 wheel Holden stock, still requires decals and slight weathering to finish off! Its going to be a long weekend! 11
stevel
There's something special about a model photographed in sunlight. Love the grain effect.
RMweb Premium thegreenhowards Posted May 12 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 12 That is truly gorgeous Rob. If you produced locos at the same rate as carriages, then I'm sure we could run all pre grouping. Maybe aim at that for next year - I’ll repaint a couple of mine!

Agreed Steve you can't beat natural lighting for adding that extra element of reality to a model!

Thank you Andy, I hope to concentrate this next year on Loco building to build up a bit of stock as im a bit lacking in this department! You have some cracking stock Andy so can't wait to see that :)
bbishop
Rob, asking for a friend, but what is your opinion of a Bambu Labs printer - possibly either the A1 mini or the P1P. He is working in 3mm. Bill

Bill Hello Bill good to hear from sir, I haven't got the Bambu printer, but a friend of mine has and says its very very good, however I would still recommend a resin printer from Elegoo or Anycubic over an FDM printer especially for printing 3mm scale stock, Bambu would be ideal for scenery/buildings, but when it comes to detail resin can't be beaten, especially at the smaller scales! Are you going to Kempton? Cheers Rob

woko
Some extra work on the display background this weekend with some additional greenery/weeds, I have a few little bits to do still, like glazing for the signal box, and details for the interior would be nice! 12 1

woko
Posting up this finished LBSC Tri composite in 7mm, I seem to have built 10 six wheel LBSC Billinton's now, so time to look to move onto something else :) Could do with some subtle weathering I think, once again thanks to Ian MacCormac for the wonderful decals! 9 5
