RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted February 20, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 20, 2022 (edited) Started this evening. Such a relaxing kit to build - everything fits together easily with minimal preparation. Cheers Darius Edited April 10, 2022 by Darius43 11
RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted February 21, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2022 (edited) Cab roof profile sanded down to match the main roof. I used a couple of strips of masking tape to protect the roof rib detail. Roofs masked and painted. I also brush painted the door reveals and steps using Phoenix NIR dark blue enamel, which matches the Thameslink blue quite well. RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted February 22, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) Glad I picked this up on eBay about 10 years ago in case it came in useful someday… After a lot of cleaning up I soldered it together in the down position. Painted and in place using some insulators left over from Hornby Class 86 modifications. Cheers Darius Edited April 10, 2022 by Darius43 10
spsmiler
Hello, Is that the Bratchells kit? I have one of those, not touched it yet, partly because I have too many other things 'in the queue' to be built. Not just trains but also buildings. Also, I've not found anywhere that has the correct type pantograph. Bratchells also do not supply seats, DC kits used to have these but the last time I looked they had been discontinued. Isinglass have seats for Class 465 Networkers and I might use these. https://www.isinglass-models.co.uk/3D-Model-Shop/3d-model-shop.html#!/~/product/id=39943&prid=0&ctid=16&scid=4&tp=pl Simon 1
SRman
That has come on well, Darius. You have reminded me that I must try to finish off my Thameslink 319. I got it to the running stage then stopped building, so all the underframe details are still in the bag.
