SRman
I have only just caught up again with this topic. You have some wonderful photos and memories there, Patrick. I have only recently returned from 5 weeks in Denmark, with excursions into Germany and Sweden, then had a week away in Adelaide (a little bit nearer home), all with limited Internet access because of the nature of our accommodations. I managed a good many bus, tram and train photos and videos, mostly snatched during our travels, so not specifically intended or planned shots.
RMweb Premium Patrick SPF Posted November 13, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 13, 2022 The following day started with a steam hauled train from Nässjö to Halmstad along the old HNJ mainline. The line was being upgraded and it was a chance to see it before everything changed. This included the semaphore on the Nässjö approach to Vaggeryd . Nässjö PW yard (the former HNJ loco depot) A couple of Y6 derived PW vehicles The approach signal at Vaggeryd showing stop - I believe it was the last semaphore of this type on the mainline network. We had all de-trained and were walking up the line so that we could take photos of our train passing the signal. Our loco Kalmar Järnväg No 17 (4-6-0 Motala 1930), passing the signal on its run-by, the signal aspect means Kör 40 (proceed at 40kmh with caution)
RMweb Premium Patrick SPF Posted December 27, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 27, 2022 A belated God jul and gott nytt åt! to all Going back to Vaggeryd the station was being rebuilt (Y1 1274 was on a service train for the county transport authority) Heading towards Halmstad.. Every stop for photos involved climbing down from the train and then joining the photo line as the train backed up and then ran forward ( I got bored and stayed on for one run-by)

RMweb Premium Patrick SPF Posted December 25, 2023 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 25, 2023 There was one more treat for us before moving to the museum Pa27 (ASEA 1914) was added to the front of our train to pilot a run on the industrial line to Bomhus. There had been some concern about her running capabilities hence her use as pilot. For the run back she ran round and hauled the train back on her own with D101 in neutral at the rear. There was a visit to the railway museum: Gävle Model Railway Clubs facilities in the basement Preserved narrow gauge industrial electric Frykstad (Munktells 1855) 1101mm gauge We then departed on our sleeper train back to Stockholm arriving just before 6pm. RMweb Premium Patrick SPF Posted February 11 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted February 11 My most recent trips to Sweden have been for family reasons so little train spotting was involved but I did manage to take a few photos while traveling, these photos being taken in mid-August 2023. Öresund Tåg units at Copenhagen Airport station, both photos were taken looking towards the bridge. Various stock in the yard at Malmö C Snälltåget class 193 - it says the loco on this side of the unit
SRman
Those Øresundståg trains are quite comfortable. We rode quite a few of them in 2022 while staying in Copenhagen. They are used as local and regional trains in Denmark, and become almost Intercity trains in Sweden. We were staying in Ørestad, on the Kastrup Airport line which continues over the bridge into Sweden, and using the trains for the one stop trip into Copenhagen Central, and in the other direction into Sweden to various destinations, some of which are almost two-thirds of the way to Stockholm. Mostly they were running as 3- or 6-car units, but we did see one 9-car set (i.e. three units) on our very first arrival into Denmark at the airport station. I have strung the Danish train footage together into a video on YouTube - the 9-car set is in the very first scene. The Swedish video is here: This photo of our Øresundståg train was taken at Alvesta. We actually went to Växjö then back to Alvesta, where we changed trains and hopped on one of the SJ's X2000 units to Stockholm. The pale grey and silver livery really doesn't do much for the X2000s, although a new scheme with a darker grey on the noses and doors is coming in on refurbished units. With the livery on the photo, they remind me just a bit of the Ice Warriors from Doctor Who! All in all, I found the train travel in Denmark and Sweden very enjoyable. Mrs SRman was reasonably impressed, so that's really saying something! Edited February 11 by SRman Corrected spelling of town name

Luigi Taveri
We did a (very enjoyable) trip to Gothenburg and Copenhagen via Oresund Tag last September, and in the style of SRman above, these were Mrs Foxy's favourite trains due to their colours....... I thought I'd best really add a couple of photos as evidence rather than hijack Patrick's better efforts. Grab shot on way into Malmo. And a couple of X2000s same day (and in both grey tones as referenced by SRman above). Foxy Edited February 25 by Luigi Taveri Supplying my own evidence rather than hijacking someone else's

Foxy I rather liked those too, although I didn't get to ride in any. There were also other colour schemes applied to the same design units running around.
