N gauge Flexi track HELP

You will need something to cut the track, track shears, or a dremel type cutter are ideal. Once cut it is likely you will need to file the ends so a mini file is needed. If you are glueing the track down then you will also need some weights to hold the track down. Tins of food are ideal for this.

May depend on how complex the layout is. Tools such as a track spacing gauge if there are any double track sections. And maybe templates for curves.

How to do it? Ideally print off a track plan full size (Anyrail or scarm etc) or draw it full size on wallpaper etc. Doing so will help ensure (a) you have space to do what you are planning (b) you won’t start cutting track too soon unnecessarily.

Not done N, but approach with OO is to cut off the last sleeper or so first, to allow rail joiners to slip on. Remember when bending track the inner and outer rails will be different lengths.

How are you planning attached electrical feeds to track? Soldering? You’ll need soldering iron, flux and solder.

As you are using MDF try not to get it wet unless you have sealed it or waterproofed it. You don't want it swelling up and ruining the hard work you have put in laying your track.
