WIMorrison
Does anyone know what this Z21 (and other command stations) connector type is called and would anyone know where I can purchase the female item - ideally as a screw connection like this one? mikeg
I think that both Digitrains and Coastal DCC have them, you maybe able to get one from Gaugemaster but when I asked about 15 months ago they were not in stock only the 4 socket ones. regards mike
WIMorrison
Mike There is no difficulty in getting the male shown in the picture but it isn’t the male connector I want, it is the female that this male example fits into

Does look that way, which would make this the mating half, I think:- https://www.rapidonline.com/camdenboss-ctb93he-2-2-way-10a-terminal-block-side-entry-header-3-81mm-pitch-21-2720

It has the pins! (i.e. the bits which plug in!) The bit with the screw terminals that you pictured is the FEMALE as it has a receptacle to receive the pins! Ever had kids? It looks like it mates with the connector the OP pictured, so it still looks right to me. Edited October 14, 2021 by spamcan61

The male goes into the female and however you look at it the answer from @spamcan61 and @Free At Last are the correct item whereas your suggestion was, and remains, wrong.
