mdvle Posted October 3, 2021 Share Posted October 3, 2021 (edited) In Canada September 30th 2021 was the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a federal holiday enacted earlier this year as a result of the stories earlier this year on the horrors of the residential school system that First Nation kids were forced into, and sadly many died in. Β https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/campaigns/national-day-truth-reconciliation.html Β To commemorate the victims and honour the survivors of the residential school system CP has painted one of its locomotives in orange with "Every Child Matters" on the side, a proposal made to CP by a 13-year old Indigenous youth.
