LBRJ
I have just seen this as some breaking news. I cant say it comes as a total shock, but its still somewhere on the scale! Early days yet but it does seem to be good news. They are being bought out by the MOD to ensure future security of supply for warship components. Derekl
Good grief - in the good old days of the British Steel Corporation Forgemasters was a leading part of the non-public sector. Seems a good idea, though, given the spate of take overs of various (some possibly strategic) companies this is one way to ward off that possibility, and probably more effective than wringing hands, as seems to be what has happened with others.
didcot
This has to be a good thing. I know they were looking at components for the nuclear industry some years ago. Safe guarding the jobs and skills is a good investment. 1
